So you've checked all the coordinates and they are yielded results of Giant Carroin Spats? Two of them taht I checked had literally no creatures for miles, while the other two were close to a city and had normal spats, paralopes, and the works. No giants though.

the gps sightings are basically giant spat sightings from what i saw

Where the heck do you find them? The sightings listed just yeilded normal carrion spats. Anyone have a confirmed sighting? Or perhaps the general area where they live?

Lair: a cluster of brambles

That seems strange....if you can ride something as big as a falumpaset or a bantha, you should be able to ride one of these babies at level 18. Grr...btw, tamed one the other day and some bug in the game caused the little guy to run 100m away to a sharnaff lair and start attempting to kill the 'naffs. Obviously he had little success. But I named him "Sharnaff-Smasher". Whenever I want him to attack anything, I say "Look, it's a sharnaff!"

Ahhh... the one drawback is you have to stunt their growth at or after level 12, or they'll grow too big to ride. (RATS!!) But they still give you a nice, tall view.

I'd say they're quick to mount! I tamed two today, and was able to mount-train them immediately.

one of the coolest mounts out there

Very quick to mount, similar to Savage Humbabas, because they are very large.
