Mounts, do they all move at the same speed

Postby Kurstun Krank » Sun Aug 01, 2004 6:41 am

im a fairly new CH and currently have a baby lesser bol for use as my future mount,

im curious though do all mountable creatures run at the same speed?

is there one that can give the swoop a run for its money?

great site btw

now i really have to do some work

I think they all run at the same speed, but im not sure. If you use /gallop then they run faster for a while, kind of like Burst Run, but i've never seen a mount that can come anywhere close to matching the speed of even a X34

But wouldn't that be a great perk! Imagine if we could mount Great Plains Stalkers and ride the big cats alongside our mere mortal friends on their swoops. Think they'd be jealous? :)

I can't say for sure but I switched to a brackaset male and now I seem to out run my graul when I didn't on my dewback. But that could be server lag causing that problem....

Cupa races ?

Postby Xanth » Mon Aug 02, 2004 11:07 am

It seemed to me, at least at gallop, that my Cupa could run at a pretty good clip. I'd like to see speed added to the database for all creatures...sure would help you decide wether to run from one when it agro's or not !

I think it needs some testing, but it has been said that Kaadus and Carrion Spats are the fastest mounts.

Okay, everyone grab your mount and head to the Mos Espa Pod Race Track. I'm having Chocobo Racing flashbacks...

I've only tested a kaadu versus a mountain dewback, but I am convinced they all move at the same speed and that any perceived differences are due to the height of the mount combined with its stepping speed.

Maybe at one time they were different speeds (I'm new to the game so I have no idea), or maybe I'm just wrong heh.
