Killing Rancors

I'm hunting bull rancors pretty aggressively on Tempest server at the moment. In the process, I have spawned many baby gnarled rancors and regular baby rancors. At first, I started dumping other animals so I'd have room to tame them. Then I realized that, as good a pet as a rancor is, I don't want an entire datapad full of them.

So now I kill them. Everytime I kill one, I remember how dangerous, exciting and difficult it was to get my first rancor. But I also think that, while I was incapping and dying, there were almost certainly other people hunting rancors who were killing babies at the same time.

It breaks my heart to have to 'waste' such a good pet. We need orphanages where the babies can be put, rather than senselessly slaughtered and wasted for what? Six units of leathery hide? Oh, the inhumanity :(

Seriously though, if you are on the threshhold of going after your first rancor, it might behoove you (whatever a behoove is) to find a CH on your server who is actively hunting bull rancors. It gets lonely out there in the mountainous forests of Dathomir. You could have some great conversations about the CH profession, whine about how unappreciated we are in every aspect of the game, and get yourself a rancor baby in the process. It's win-win all around :)

lol, i think it was Lanytssa a few days ago that was telling someone that you shouldn't feel bad about killing the babies because if you didn't, they aren't likely to survive anyways :)

Also someone had an idea about stables....that would be awesome. Like a house, but somewhere you could keep pets so they didn't clutter your datapad. Like...small=10 pets Medium=20 pets Large=40 pets

Yeah, a day ago or .. less, this is a story of it :). I finally reached the point where i could tame a real life rancor. First i spent sometime on Endor, for arachne warrior/toxic merek lord, but no success for now. Then i went to dathomir, copied some waypoints for lots of animals.

My first goal was to find a rancor, which i did . Me and my merek got viciously attacked by 5 rancor youths, we were both bleeding very badly. So i decided i have to search elsewhere..

While i was searching near the science outpost i saw a \"a pile of rocks\", ran a little closer (yes i go by foot on dathomir heh..), a bull rancor, rancor, rancor youth popped up.. I was like \"YES!\" but my first problem was the bull rancor and its disease, i had to get it to attack me so i could lure him to fight malkloc bulls which had a lair very close to theirs.

That was easy.. next, i pulled out my sweet \"delirious merek avenger\" and used him to pull out the last remaining guards, i helped him out of course. To my suprise.. the next one that came out of the lair was \"a rancor (baby)\" i was super happy! :) . Then i tried to tame it, and i succeeded with the first try.. then i just took a moment to relax :).

It was a long day! I'm sorry for any typos there might be :P.

To reply to the original idea, well i've been taking out some babies too.. it feels cruel but sometimes you just have to do it. Thats why im focusing on Mokks, Jantas on dantooine for now.. :)
