These are fantastic, if not the best, non-CH pets. I still fight them for quick CH points. Meatlumps fetch around 100 ch points each using this pet which is not a lot but when you are killing 5-10 in every few minutes (helping of course), you can rack up points quite quickly.

That's correct, Jupiter. Giant carrion spats will eventually grow too large to be usable as mounts, which means their owner has to stunt their growth at level 12 or so, while a regular spat needs to grow a bit to the point where it can be mount-trained. But yes, once these grow up, they never get too big to ride.

i heard you can continue to mount these forever,but the giant carrion spat can grow to large to mount,correct?

This week (28/07/2004) gives a good avian meat: worth a hunting party.
