tamed 2 of these today to repalce my old one from pre CU. I wanted a new one to get one with an inate skill, first tame had no inate, second one had panicked rage l2. Which is good since i do not know this skill yet, though was hopeing for the one with frenzied blitz l2 so i could finish off that skill line. To get a baby spawn from these is only slightly harder then getting a baby ikopi stag, the hard part is find the spawn at all. I got it easy this time around on this , because i got a tip on where the spawn was located after a friend tamed one with bleed attack l2 off the same spawn, and both those tames were off this spawn also. For this reason of people being able to share a spawn on these really makes the new way of getting static spawn babies better, in the old system you had to kill and keep killing and hope the spawn does not wore out before you get a baby spawn, if it did you had to go look for another very hard to find spawn. Wit the new system you only need to find the spawn once in most cases.

disgustingly rare baby spawn
irocz Mon Aug 22 2005 8:56:00 PM
the gps is a lvl 50 in my datapad
Unknown Mon Aug 1 2005 6:10:00 PM
Do these exist on the Europe-Chimera server?
Soulsyphon Mon Jul 4 2005 8:05:00 AM
it is now a lvl 48, as per the one listed in my datapad, this is a good thing, since this means now it can be grouped with a female narglatch
Unknown Wed Jun 29 2005 11:43:00 AM
After weeks I saw my third - at a spot between the first two ones, unfortunately AGAIN no baby spawn :/ My char name is Rycazz^^
Unknown Sun May 22 2005 4:24:00 PM
what is your character name on bria Ryca?
Unknown Sat May 14 2005 12:54:00 PM
saw my first two today on Bria, wps 2192 -144 and 1628 -754, both single and after killing them no respawn at all. I always waited like 5 mins or even longer and came back to the spots a few times. they had swamp humbabas and dire cats around them.
lyah Thu Apr 28 2005 9:48:00 PM
Level 50. Cons red on radar.
Rydenn Sun Apr 3 2005 3:09:00 PM
Found an adult today on Bria. I killed it, and a few minutes later another spawned. I killed that adult, and about 5 minutes later another spawned. After that, a bunch of rasps spawned and no more GPS :(
Waypoint was -949 -2903
Samoht O'Ruadhain Wed Mar 30 2005 12:35:00 PM
Tamed one on Corbantis today, just outside of Coronet. Only took two tries!
Unknown Wed Mar 2 2005 2:55:00 AM
man i was gonan cry tonight, been spending every minute i am online searching for GPS, and i searched for 6 hours today alone when i finally find a spawn, and on the 3rd from the spawn its a baby but it agrroes me and when i run to get attgack to stop it poofed :(
hossp Tue Mar 1 2005 10:56:00 AM
i wasn't looking for one either, but you can always make room..actually there is a "bug" that if you call the one not fully grown first, you can call the full grown next and exceed cl 70..one the baby reaches full size this no longer works though..the two were actually running for the same target, looked like on con on the radar, when i sent my pet in, it stopped the one, but a second gps seemed to run out of the first and continue on to the murra
Ness_Gorath Mon Feb 28 2005 6:17:00 PM
haha awsome hossp. i havnt looked for a second yet cause i have no room for one. dont you wish u could team them up when they are full grown haha. its cool taming them now cause the devs finally fixed the agressiveness of creatures and they attack things themselves now instead of standing around like airheads. its cool but its hell anoying in another way cause they run off too much and babies are alot harder to tame.. suprised the 2 GPS werent fighting lol
hossp Sun Feb 27 2005 11:22:00 PM
today i was cruising through corellia, and spotted a gps spawn, decied to work it..turns out it was 2 on top of each other..the gps's were flying all over murra in the area..i was waitng for the 3rd spwan , not entirly sure 2 would spawn or if i had allowed 2 from the same spawn to come up earlier (not sure if that made sense)..anyhow an adult spawns so i sent in my be tank..then a baby spawns right beside the adult..i'm afriad my razor will kill it..i finish off the adult and spam the follow command, and the baby took hits, but didn't follow the razor to..so i ended up with my second GPS..pretty cool, now i can see it this one grows up more aggressive than my first
emorral Sat Feb 19 2005 11:14:00 PM
Well about 5 months ago I sold a good friend the first GPS baby I found, and that one took about 3 weeks to find. I didnt realize how lucky I was, because I just found my second baby 3 days ago, and like others in the comments ive been looking everyday, for hours on end for months.
I will not sell this one LOL!
Ness_Gorath Fri Feb 18 2005 5:30:00 PM
i only did 15.... however my search was a more stressful one. it took me 7 months to find mine. i hutned everyday and i mean i f*cking scanned the area a 3km radious around nyax everday sometime 2-3 times a day for hours. i took small breaks every now and then. but to find a spawn was awsome. 4rth on my 15th was my baby. on thanksgiving morning and he was a dark dark red one just like i wanted. it was wroth the stress and work but just ask hossp i was flipping not till the last 4 months did i start seeing them
hossp Fri Feb 18 2005 2:33:00 AM
i did over 40..i read someone on the ch forum did 63...
Unknown Fri Feb 18 2005 12:16:00 AM
Ugh.... 24 spawns and counting and no baby for me. Last night was a banner night- 6 spawns. Tonight only 2... I wonder what the most anyone has ever done without seeing a baby?
Ness_Gorath Wed Feb 16 2005 4:11:00 PM
Well ry first off the mire isnt tamable... sigh lol and ok the reason why people want the stalker so bad is cause there are 3 types of CH. first kind are creature trainers lol they like BE creatures alot more usually cause they are strong and powerful for fighting and tanking. 2nd type is a tamer. there CH like rare creatures. they like the thrill of hunting and and tracking down that perfect wild pet baby that is special and different. the3rd is a balanced CH. this person has some BE pets and wild pets alike. they like to hunt Creatures and they enjoy using them for fighting. so does that answer your question? lol seems your more of the trainer u like those powerful ones and rely on the stats. but hey dont get me wrong the GPS is SUPER powerful trust me iv seen mine win some nasty fights.
Rydenn Wed Feb 16 2005 11:25:00 AM
Can someone tell me what makes this cat so amazing? I know how rare it is, and how cool it would be to have one, but his actual stats are not that impressive..
othe Wed Feb 16 2005 12:47:00 AM
Hmmm I guess I will give out the wps too: 2/15 10pm 1440, -1339; 2/16 10:30 1288, -785. I went back and forth between these two before getting to more missions. On the last mission (HD) the spawn showed up with 50 m at wp 1204, -736.
Good luck to all... Next quest will be my Swamp Stalker and maybe a baby Bull
othe Wed Feb 16 2005 12:42:00 AM
Today the SWG Gods blessed me with my Baby. I was all about the Hidden Daggers, for the spinning blades and I found 3 spawns outside of Crossroads (Intrepid Server) On the 4th spawn of the 3rd spot I saw the most precious kitten. She took twice to convience her to come home with me. Now I must find the purrfect name for her.
velm Tue Feb 15 2005 3:28:00 PM
I can usually wander in the riverlands for a while, near the shoreline and going a bit inland. I dunno, I just want to see something OTHER than vrelts, mottled wrix, carrion spat, and so on. It would be nice to just see a Great Plains Stalker. Oh, well, I think stuff like the GPS is one of the things that makes being a CH so much fun, the rares. Sure we might be a novelty Prof, but it is a lot of fun.
Ness_Gorath Sat Feb 12 2005 5:38:00 PM
you people have to stop and think. the great plains stalker is a super rare creature if your lucky u will see maybe one a week. i know i had over 20 WPs spread all around in a 2500m radious around nyax. took me 7 months to find a baby. i found 15 spawns within those 7 months. my first 2 months i never saw one. so stop whining and dont take it to seriously. jst make a dialy rutined pass aorund nyax everday. if you look to much your just gunna get fustrated. heres a hint. first off read down on the comments i wrote a whole tips thing on how to get one. second dont EXPECT a baby to spawn. seems they spawn when u least expect it. also look near water harvesters and dont clear spawns it rarley helps on corellia cause of all the spawns. trust me dont stress over it like i did. makes you crazy
hossp Fri Feb 11 2005 5:08:00 PM
honestly i think too much emphasis is put on nyax's compound..sure they spawn there..but they also spawn east, west, south, and north of there..tehy have a wide range and everyday a few spawn somewhere..keep trying, and try different areas
velm Fri Feb 11 2005 2:53:00 PM
I have been searching the riverlands of Corelia for days now, not a sign of them. I travel all around the areas, with a heavy emphesis near the Nyax compound area, since that is where a fair amount of people say they see them. No luck, nothing but the same things. At least I know where to go to look for Wrix's, Mottled Wrix's Carrion Spats, Dire cats, Slice Hounds.
othe Mon Feb 7 2005 11:53:00 AM
I have spent the last 2 days searching for a spawn of these rare kitties... without any luck! And I seem to only find them on 29th of the month for 2 months in a row here on Intrepide. Any suggestions for a becoming Frustrated CH>?
Ness_Gorath Sun Feb 6 2005 12:44:00 AM
these are (5%) ok im done fot the night and your probably tired of reading these. I think we shold have a thing put into the info update. It should be called liek it says by the book Base Chance of Taming this creature.
hossp Sat Jan 29 2005 5:17:00 PM
lol..understood soulsyphon..it read like it was sooooo hard to find 5 spawns..and i was thinking, this guy's going to get frustrated on the bull hunt, hehe...anyhow congrats again..it's always nice when you have to work for one, makes you appreciate more than if you just stumble upon it after a few kills
Soulsyphon Sat Jan 29 2005 3:16:00 AM
i feel after reading the stuff after my first post I must add that it was the 5th lair of that day, not my 5th lair total lol, it was after about 2 months of searching to get to that point in which i tamed one, and also should add for the first month i didn't even find an adult. The following day i also tamed a vesp scavenger, i know it is only a lvl 29, but it is a rare lvl 29, and i use it with a dilerious merek avenger lvl 40 in a ranged pet combo.
Ness_Gorath Wed Jan 26 2005 4:59:00 PM
rather lucky? lol hossp try 7 months :) gorath is one messe dup server cause a month later grambacca got his... of course im the unlucky one nuthing unusual there. oh welll i got mine on thanksgiving and i got a dark one the color i wanted and he is my favorite so the 7 month hunt was worth it in the long run
hossp Wed Jan 26 2005 11:40:00 AM
congrats man..it's a nice feeling to finally see a baby..but you have to admit getting one on your 5th spawn is ratherlucky..it took me over 40..they are a lot more common than the bull rancor though, i did over 700 missions and countless wild lairs to find mine, but at least you are killing things and getting xp, yet doing 20 bull missions in a buff set get kinda monotonous
Soulsyphon Wed Jan 26 2005 10:39:00 AM
Wow this was the hardest tame i ever had to do. This has to be harder then the bull rancor to find a baby for lol, At least the bull rancor you can get missions for it. i was looking 8 hours for a GPS last night finally i stumbled on my 4th spawn site, and after maybe 5th adult spawned a baby spawned. i am a tk and a rifle man lol so if it ggroed the best thing i could equip is a CDEF rifle due to rifles don't fire that close up then at a +31 tame food and put on all my best tame gear, and i'm a MCH, i tried 5 times to tame it then bang it aggroed me. luckyly i planeed for that and also had my swoop out so i could run from it in this situation to break aggro, i had just broken aggro from the baby GPS, when i picked up another aggro of something i didn't see, i paniced for a sec. thinking it is gonna pet poof on me like the baby widow did and the baby screecher, but remebered where i was stopped equiped my vibro knuckes and took out my attacker. I went back to the baby on foot(just was so nervious i forgot i could have rode back lol. i got back to the baby tried to tame once more i had reequiped my CDEFrifle again, as soon as i tried it disappeared, i thought it pet poofed, but it had teleported 60m forward, so i ran to it and tried 4 more tries finally I tamed it. Lol i wasalready a nervious wreck lol itwas gonna poof on me , i didn't need the extra stress lol, but it worked out in the end, it took me 2 months to find this baby, ...also 2 1/2 hours later i tamed a baby widow lol so all i got left is a baby bull rancor. so far i own the archnie widow, merek death's head, GPS, rhoa kwi packleader, and a mantigrue screecher for my rares i own so far.

Went searching for these guys as usual and came across one in the midst of a pack of (giant/regular) carrion spats. Only noticed because it said my scouting xp was 154.
There was another to the south. I killed 7 between the first spot and the southern spot. There was no lair and no babies ever spawned, but the carnivore meat was excellent quality. Harvested without veghash about 183 units off each corpse.
Very impressive critters.

As of 07:21, 14 December 2004, I have tamed my first GPS. First lair, 3rd spawn, 2nd tame attempt. Chimaera, -160 -553.
(That was 10min ago and my heart is still racing!)
Sheeana Mon Nov 29 2004 10:05:00 AM
To the best of my knowledge no ones ever seen a lair so they seem to be single spawns, they usually have between 3-4 respawns thats usually the time a baby pops up so gotta make sure you stick around after you kill the adult :)
Anonymous Sun Nov 28 2004 3:04:00 PM
I have a question, I have been looking for these on and off for over 9 months. I have have found several single spawns of adults but never a baby. Do these spawn in lairs or just single??
Ness_Gorath Fri Nov 26 2004 11:57:00 AM
yeah lol i still hate everyone lol i want to be the only one with one. its my favorite pet. ever since i started CH 7 months ago i wanted one. and now i cant belive i got one ok maybe i dont hate you guys. but im not jelous anymore lol
Sheeana Fri Nov 26 2004 8:19:00 AM
After an extended search having tamed one of these I can offer only one peice of advice: Kill things off, espically lairs since they wont respawn with the same thing. If you clear up spots youd be suprised how often a GPS spawn will pop up :)
hossp Thu Nov 25 2004 5:35:00 PM
congrats ness..welcome to the club..lol...now come on, it wasn't that hard was it?..watch how fast it grows, mine was full grown in a couple days...oh and one question...do you still hate everyone who ghas one, and if so how are you taking it out on yourself..lol
Ness_Gorath Thu Nov 25 2004 2:07:00 PM
today... around 11 AM eastern... on my 15th GPS spawn. the forth one spawned MY BABY!!!!!!!!! he agroed me the first time and i tamed him on my second. i was shaking i was never so damn excited in my life. after the 3rd i gave up but i checked again and poof a yellow dot. the coolest things about mine is it isnt just dark dark red like the color i wanted it to be. but i also got it on thanksgiving. ironic and awsome!! i am god
Ness_Gorath Tue Nov 23 2004 3:26:00 PM
Well anyway.. i was reading old posts about these guys and for anyone who is looking for these im gunna give you guys some tips. The rumor they spawn near water (rivers) is true. but not all of them do. there are 2 more ways to locate them. 1dt if you checkk all the river ways and do not see one. Put on your lord nyax POI wp. then fly roughly 1500m from it. and fly a lap around it. i'v noticed alot of my spawns are on that line. also keep in mind they if you are hunting them like crazy. Each set of spawns tends to spawn close to the recent one. within 400-1000m. If your in a mountain area and you see things like grondas, deranged wrix, dalraykes, and canoids around one wont be there. They spawn in areas where you see 1. Corellian butterfly lairs with CB Monarchs in them. 2. Giant carrions spats with normal ones. lots of dire cat spawns. Wrix lairs with Grand wrix in them. and where there is a mass number of spawns. last place to look is fly between 800-300m from lord nyax place. Use your radar and tab through almost every spawn you see. use your con. (they are red dot with red circle) *for most people* and the spawn times and amounts you see them will vary.
There ya go GL happy hunting Archiie (Gorath)
Ness_Gorath Tue Nov 23 2004 2:51:00 PM
well anyway.. sunday night i found my 14th spawn. it was bugged after i killed the first one no more spawned. i thought it was the cycle. but i stayed there to kill things and i noticed every lairless creature spawn in that area despawned after i killed them. btw the 14th was like 600m or so from the 13th. just like my 11th and 12th and my 13th was the same distance from my 12th. i see a patern here :)
schadow shadowbane Tue Nov 23 2004 1:57:00 PM
hmm i dont even find the spawnpoints, thats very confused, remembers me when a friend of mine tried to catch gurrecks.
hossp Fri Nov 19 2004 4:25:00 PM
you got 3 spawns in 2 days..they aren't THAT hard to find..if they spawned babies more frequently they wouldn't be so desirable..i wish they were rarer...anyone care to comment on how stressed ness will be by his 40th or so spawn..lol
Ness_Gorath Fri Nov 19 2004 4:09:00 PM
just cleared spawn 13 on a random island 900m from lord nyax. no baby again... im starting to lose faith. Thats 54 GPS and no baby. Ya know if they where gunna make these guys like finding a needle in a heystack at least LEAST make a baby spawn in like 1/5 spawns. 6 months of this is just 6 months of my life stressing out over a video game.
Ness_Gorath Thu Nov 18 2004 1:25:00 AM
800m from my 11th spawn was my 12th about 1 hour later after killing sawns like a retard. CLEARED THEM NO BABY!! never a baby. ever i hate corelia. i hate star wars. i hate cats. i hate the devs. i hate anyone who has a GPS. and i hope that people who got thiers in under 3 months or on thier 2nd spawn rot in hell. baaaaaaaaaahhhhh. why. why. i just dont understand. i can fly around corellia blind folded. seriously. i need a hug...
Ness_Gorath Wed Nov 17 2004 11:20:00 PM
well.... i just finished my 11th spawn (not counting the times i killed one and nuthing eles spawned) and no baby. ya know for something this rare to find you would think the babies would be a bit easier to come across. well the search continues and my WPs hossp are so spread out i have a bazillion. you cant really force a spawn cause it spawns in such a huge area. i try forceing WDB spawns but i still have no luck with it.
hossp Wed Nov 17 2004 1:07:00 AM
yeah i've spoken to some old time ch's and they got theirs in around 10 spawns..i think the probability was adjusted somewhat.. a friend on my server did substantially more spawns then me to get his, arounf the same time period..i got mine 2 weeks after him...you know how to force spawns?
Ness_Gorath Tue Nov 16 2004 6:39:00 PM
wow crazy. thanks but how long did you look for. everyone i know found one within 11 spawns. there are alot on my server but they got them a long time ago. now they just seem imposibble to even find.
hossp Tue Nov 16 2004 4:27:00 PM
ness you are about 1/4 of the way..i got mine on the 46th spawn..and i forced a lot of cats out of a couple spawns by killing them via dna sampling, so i have killed well over 200..i would bet money you will get one before your 46th spawn :)..keep trying
Ness_Gorath Tue Nov 16 2004 11:05:00 AM
ok well i found my 10th spawn sunday night. after i checked all my WPs i just do rounds around the poi. no baby. so that makes a total of about 44 GPS and no baby. Im starting to get suspicious now. i mean seariously have been looking over 6 months.
Fuzzgau Fri Nov 5 2004 3:59:00 PM
Oh yeah..I forget to add that. As of it being implemented I have been using that Consider box and its worked very well. As far as the Nyax's Cult poi area, I've never seen a Gps anywhere in the surrounding areas...always vacant. I even killed that industrial spy guy(or girl sometimes) for a couple of weeks, couldnt resist.(pretty bad location for it if you ask me lol) all the gps I've seen were elsewhere throughout the land, even suprised me in a few areas. They need a hard to find creature like this on every planet if you ask me...and TAMABLE lol
hossp Thu Nov 4 2004 11:20:00 PM
hehe keep trying guys..i did over 40 spawns, before i got mine...fuzzgau, are yoy using the consider function?,,it gives a red circle around the red dot...no mistaking a vrelt for the gps..don't just hover nmym's cult..i've seen them in a lot of places..as far w as -3000...it will come, just a numbers game
Fuzzgau Thu Nov 4 2004 3:02:00 PM
Have continued to find spawns..but always just a set of adults. It usually does take awhile before I notice that one stray red dot on the map and turn around to see it. They definetly dropped some of their previous aggro they used to have but they are by no means docile. Still no Tatooine pig though, I'd like to see that at least once..
Ness_Gorath Thu Nov 4 2004 10:45:00 AM
and it is now a little more then 6 months now iv been looking. Still only found 9 total spawns. havnt seen a spawn in like 2 or 3 weeks. no baby yet. Is gorath bugged or something. wish Nexus wasnt smack in the middle of the spawn area. im almost ready to give up hope. getting VERY bored of flying through my 20 WPs on corellia almost every day. anyway congratz bro. Which spawn was that for you?

I started my hunt for one of these bad boys today. My max level of creatures just increased to 55 last night. I headed out to the Lord Nyax compound. I've read that thats where they spawn. After setting a waypoint right in front of the compounds door right before server reset, I logged off about 200m away. Around 7:30 am I log back on and begin a search pattern. Doing circles around Nyax compound in 200m increments. I was just starting my 400m circle when I come across my first GPS ever. I killed him, and the 3 that spawned afterwards. No babies. I continued my search. I completed my 400m circle, did a whole 600m circle. Just started on my 800m circle when BAM! Theres another one. I called up Masamune and Murasame and we did battle with the beast. I killed him, then another one. Then on the third, what pops up, but a yellow triangle. I paused a few seconds to let it go red. 5 seconds, 6 seconds, 7, 8, 9, 10. It stayed yellow. I tabbed over to it, and the title says "Great Plains Stalker (Baby)". I backed off about 60m. Re-did my mask scent. And slowly walked up to him. Tame 1 failed. Tame 2 failed. About this time I start worrying that he might aggro me, so I hit peace, and unequip my weapon (I'd rather die, clone and come back for a second shot). Tame 3 sticks. I see those beautiful green letters. WP 923 228. Good luck to all those still hunting.

Dang you must have great luck. Why don't you try the lottery? Don't be suprised if some CHs want you dead after your good luck. Congrats though! But I am still looking :(

i think by definition "rare" means everyone isn't supposed to have one..hunting is what ch is all about , at least for me. not buying be pets and haveing other hunter type ch's give me pets..if you don't like putting in time and searching, be a dancer or something. personally i like searching, the longer it takes the better the reward
Ness_Gorath Mon Oct 11 2004 8:04:00 PM

Easy there Ness. Let's try to be civil here, hehe. But, I do know how you feel. I have been searching for a couple of months and haven't seen a single spawn yet. I know how you feel Ness, just keep looking, you can do it!

today i went out for the obligatory gps sweep...did one spawn and sampled the fourth..usually there is a spawn nearby the first..there was, about 70m away..used my gurreck to kill the first 3and was getting ready to to sample the fourth, when YES the green circle!!! Tamed it on the first try with +22 pants and an almond crisp..i must have killed 200 of these, no exxageration, i average a spawn a day..very hard to find babies..i know of 4 others on my server...very happy
Ness_Gorath Sat Oct 9 2004 12:06:00 PM

About a week ago I found a spawn of them for the first time since I recently starting searching, probably about 20+ hours total over several weeks. It spawned all adults, but was exciting nonetheless. Was on the Eclipse server.
Afev Mon Sep 6 2004 9:58:00 AM
I have been trying to find these things for some time now on Bria, anybody seen one?

It is so tough to find these guys. I searched for almost 6 weeks and only found 2 spawns of them east of nyaxs place right on the water. I gave up for a while and moved on to the gaping spider queen.
snooz Thu Sep 2 2004 4:46:00 PM
they just nerfed the ferocity, nothing else hossp... unfortunately they really destroyed this creatures stats along with a whole host of others during the creature rebalance about 8 months back, so they arent that hard to take down anymore. good luck with your search.
hossp Thu Sep 2 2004 4:37:00 PM
thanx snooz, a nerf makes sense, i was pretty disapoints how little trouble i had dispatching 8 adults today....still no baby though...the consider function makes the much easier to find..you won't mistake them for any of the weak aggressive animals on corellia...were any other stats on them altered?
snooz Thu Sep 2 2004 4:25:00 PM
they have altered great plains stalkers as so they dont attack on sight/spawn anymore - it was a stealthy move they put in for publish 10.. alot of people are unhappy with it so hopefully they will be put back the way they were. I tamed one this morning from a single spawn, so rest assured it dosnt need to be a double.
hossp Thu Sep 2 2004 10:12:00 AM
today i was on when the servers came up and spotted a red circle neat a wrix lair....it was a gps..due to some pub 10 glitch i couldn't use my stims so i sent my gurreck in as a tank and killed it with headshots...had to sit to restore ham..3 more spawned the same way..kill sit wait..no babies..luckily they only spawned 1 at a time...i hear you nedd to find two to get a baby though...i would have ran out of pool points with 2 unfortunately..i wanted to add they were no more aggressive than any other red dot...i was unmasked 40m away and no aggro...thye yeilded 167 units of bristly hide each

Found a spawn last night, and 3rd one a baby popped. I couldnt believe it. I surprised my good friend FuzzyTeddy as he has been looking for one since January. Needless to say, he was speechless and wookiees give really big hugs. lol

I managed to find 4 of these yesterday, and take them out. The spawn seemed to stop after that. I issued a guild hunt for them, and my guild is out looking for them in their spare time. I'm hoping to find a baby soon.
Stobo DarkSky Fri Aug 13 2004 3:21:00 AM

Saw one, pretty much right outside Coronet at 607, -1955. No babies. :-(
NIMH Sat Aug 7 2004 10:29:00 AM
DarthMarksman, it was most likely an adult but the handler never named it as most CH's with rares won't. If you don't name your pet, it will carry the (baby) tag until you do. The GPS babies are about the same size as a GSP baby.
DarthMarksman Fri Aug 6 2004 6:33:00 PM
Was just heading out when I saw one in the Coronet main square with his handler. HOLY COW! The babies are huge!
DarthMarksman Fri Aug 6 2004 2:52:00 PM
So, being a novice CH as of last evening, I can assume these GPS are the king of the cats?
sailorcoon Fri Aug 6 2004 2:07:00 AM
Just reached CH novice and while exploring for an hour I ran into one of these. Luckily it didn't aggro and got some nice pics of it. Apparently likes to munch on Correlian warrior butterflys. My sighting was on 1231 -1728 on the Scylla server.
RVAlias Wed Aug 4 2004 7:48:00 PM
....anyone on Corbantis contact Lavain Alias or Drylo if your going to find one of these beauties...we're waiting!
Bugboy Tue Jul 27 2004 10:38:00 AM
I found my first lair last night, they are indeed very touchy and will attack just about anything they see. I've noticed that the sightings waypoints I've gathered seem to be surrouned by many other lairs so this presents quite a problem considering their ferocity. No babies from this spawn, but I will continue in my quest. I got very lucky since right after I set up my position at the spawn, a ranger came up and was very nice, saying "I had tracked it and dang, you beat me to it!" and that he had done about 30 spawns in the past few months with no babies.

Hello all. I've been playing on Farstar since November - still haven't seen a single adult. I officialy started my search for a GPS and i decided to follow the rivers. They were said to be hanging around water and i definetly believe its true. Cause on my first night of searching, i found an adult walking around in some low water. Hoping to find a baby soon.
Tyracca Tue Jun 29 2004 9:50:00 PM
I checked all the waypoints of spawns I have found, and sapwns posted and they were all close to water.
Martin Tue Jun 29 2004 6:29:00 AM
All of those I have seen was no further then 150-200m away from water, so if you do look for them, don't go to much inland. Yet to find a baby :(
Hazarstanagge Tue Jun 29 2004 4:40:00 AM
Well i have been hunting these things for a long time and tamed 2 of em and killed countless others. Simething was said a while back either here or on SWG site:
They seem to spawn near water.
I think is is safe to conclude that this is a pretty good assumption. With only one possible excption every one I have seen has been right on a riverbank. If you look at the map you can kinda see this pattern as well.
What do you all think?
Zurlaboo Sat Jun 26 2004 7:05:00 PM
Me too Itekei. Started the hunt last weekend. Been here all week, about 6-8 hours a day. Still not even a single adult GPS. I'm on Tempest if anyone has a confirmed sighting on the Tempest server recently, I could use a little bit of hope :)

K i bought ch clothing and i have plus +13 ch on my pants, shirt and helmet equalling +39 +39 what? What does it help you do?
NIMH Thu Jun 17 2004 11:36:00 PM
honestly, patrol is more of an aesthetic command. Many players use patrol to advertise, either their pets or their products for sale purposes. Other than that, patrol serves no practical purpose.
As long as you logg in for a few minutes each day or every 12 hours, your pet will grow every 12. Usually takes between 7-10 days, but I've seen some pets grow to full adulthood in just a couple days. Some say pet usage increases its growth rate. I'm not sure about that, but it's possible.
timo Thu Jun 17 2004 10:28:00 PM
that is faster than 10 days?
timo Thu Jun 17 2004 10:27:00 PM
what use is patrol what is it good for? is there any way to make pets grow faster?

kirbysdl Sat Jun 12 2004 2:05:00 PM
Just tamed one on Test Center a few minutes ago. I greatly recommend going with others, if they're willing, on GPS baby hunts. First of all more people can cover more area to increase the chances of seeing a spawn. More importantly, these babies will aggro anything, and you need people to taunt and kill other mobs if the baby happens to attack something. A friend on TC lost two GPS babies because the baby attacked and was killed by something else. =(
NIMH Sat Jun 12 2004 10:58:00 AM
Glad I could be of some help, Timo. 8-)
Unfortunatly, my character is on Wanderhome, but I'd be happy to create one on Tempest and do some scouting with you. I'll add you to my list and contact you. If you are not a MCH, you may want to invest in some Bio-Taming Clothes for this one. I'll tell you. There was no greater or exciting feeling than when I found and tamed my GPS Baby. Good luck to you and I'll contact you soon.
timo Sat Jun 12 2004 1:19:00 AM

Social usually pertains to Mobs. In any case, if there are two or more of the same creature together, they will aid each other in combat if they are 'Social'. Great Plains Stalkers, however, are Not Social. It is rare that you see more than one of these at the same time, but on those rare occasions, they will tend to attack each other and anything within 60+m.
Hon_Atsugi Thu Jun 10 2004 9:26:00 PM

Hey all, my first post here. This cat to a few are worth a pretty penny. I saw one watch it for a bit. Then it left. 15 seconds later another spawned. Watched it for a few, poof, gone. While walking away it spawned in front of me. Glad I had my camo on. I walked slowly away. This whole time all my friends or offline. I would to DNA this cat.
NIMH Sun Jun 6 2004 11:03:00 AM
Heya, Tivo. Funny you should say that. I, too, was on Corellia a few nights ago. Having returned from a trip to Dath and decided to do a little scouting while I was there. At around 11:30PM Eastern, I did come across about 4 separate spawns, mostly to the NE. The creature spawns were exceptionally high that night. Sufficed to say, no baby. They're still exciting to see, though. My favorite by far. I'm gonna head back to Talus and see if I can find a Mire Marauder, tamable or not. Hope you find your Wild Dune Boar.
Tivo_Lowca Sat Jun 5 2004 6:52:00 AM
hey guys, Tivo here again. just killed another spawn last night, no baby. since i tamed my baby way back in January, i've killed atleast...atleast a dozen GPSs without seeing another baby. i am so grateful i have one
Tivo_Lowca Fri Jun 4 2004 8:32:00 PM
Hiya guys. Tivo here, I just recently registered with this site so I'm here to help. I just posted all of my GPS sightings (about 10 of them) and I have been hunting them a little myself just to get a different atmosphere than Dath or Tat. Found and took out 2 adults a few days ago, no baby. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes (by the way, I tamed mine back at the end of Jan.)
Phiane Wed Jun 2 2004 9:33:00 PM
Has anyone ever tried to sample its DNA?
NIMH Mon May 31 2004 7:34:00 PM
The only suggestion I can make, Viper, is when hitting the waypoints, do it in a zigzag manner rather than a straight line so you cover as much area as possible. Also you may have to hit those areas 2 or more times before you see any GPS spawns. The regions are rarely traveled by most players since Coronet is the main player draw on Corellia. That being said, it will be up to you to trigger the creature spawns by traveling those routes several times over in a single logg period. Time-Consuming, I know, but that's the only way I found mine. Took me between 8-12 hours a day for 6 days before I nabbed my GPS. I hope this helps, and Good Luck.

As fas as spawn frequency goes...
On my 1st outing looking for these beauties I was lucky enough to get a baby spawn (REAL LUCKY). After that I must have killed 8 or 9 spawns with no more baby drops. Then nothing...not a single spawn for a good solid month at least. Now, waaay back in the day a Master ranger told me that there was a spawn progression for Krayt Dragons, so i pu that to the test. In the areas that (according to the map) spawn GPS's I spent a few hrs a day blasting every lair in these areas. Low and behold, after weeks of nothing another spawn and another baby. Im not sure if it actually worked or it was just a happy co-inky-dink. Give it a try and see how it goes.
NIMH Sun May 16 2004 7:51:00 PM
Eiwam, apparently you are not the only one experiencing the recent shortage of GPS spawns. I've been checking the SWG Creature Handler forums and have discovered several posts on different servers who also claim a sudden lack of GPS spawns. I've not had a chance to check this out for myself, here on Wanderhome but when I have some available time, I'll make a few passes around the usual locations.
Eiwam Sun May 16 2004 3:30:00 PM
NIMH, thank you for your advice I will do that. Ok is the GPS bugged? I havent seen one adult in two days and I have been out 12 hours looking they are just gone, all 4 waypoints listed are dry, as are the places I have seen them spawn. Any Ideas, anyone see this before? thanks!
NIMH Sat May 15 2004 7:59:00 PM
Eiwam, I would suggest making a macro for the 'follow me' command. This can save you a ton of grief when looking for rare babies. If a baby in question by chance does attack your pet, or visa versa. Repeatedly hit the 'follow me' macro while running away until the baby breaks off attack. This will cause your pet to break off his attack when you tell it to 'follow'. This method saved my Gaping Spider Queen Baby from the same cercumstance.
Eiwam Sat May 15 2004 7:13:00 PM

Day 2 "The Hunt for the Great Plains Stalker". I have found the area between Coronet & Tyrena has lots of GPS's. I have filled my DNA bags this morning and have over 2k meat from Aggro. Now the sad sad part of the story, I had just finished off an Adult GPS with pet, while waiting to store it a Baby GPS spawns and faster then you can blink it attacks my pet (I had mask scent on) well let me tell you...If I could have shot my pet dead I would have, killed the baby :-(
Well off to get buffed and try it again.

WP posted above.
Lanogad Thu May 6 2004 10:35:00 PM
After almost 7 weeks and around 40 adults I got one on gorath. I found 10 spawns of them, and for each spawn you get 3-4 to spawn on average Of course 4 being the max.GL to all have care to spend the time to get your own. http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=69922

Vral Soqui Mon May 3 2004 12:23:00 PM
Babies do exist because I have one =) Don't give up hope on finding one but it does take time and patience. I spent nearly 2 months searching for GPS adults. I killed about 30 of them before I finally spawned and tamed a baby. Even then the baby almost died because it wandered to close to a Mottled Wrix lair and attacked them. I had to quickly kill all the Wrixs or they would have killed the baby. Very close call. Good luck in your search!

Had my second sighting and fight with a GPS this morning. Although I often hunt for it, this morning all I was doing was setting up my harvesters. After doing that I noticed I was in "GPS country" so I decided I might as well look around a bit. Well, did ONE /areatrack and there 85m from me was a Great Plains Stalker. I was shocked to say the least. This sighting was NW of my earlier one and the farthest north posting, I believe. Anyway, took out my lvl 50 wild Rancor and the fight was on. After killing that one and then 3 more spawns, no baby. Went on around the area and looked some more but no more. My sighting location is posted.

Two friends of mine-master ch and master ranger- and i looked around for these things for about 2 hours....we didnt even find adults...not sure if babies even exist...
AmonChakad Mon May 3 2004 7:14:00 AM
I've found 4 adults fighting themselves just north of Coronet,no babies though.
Sato Fri Apr 30 2004 6:14:00 PM
Killed 4 last night, no babies. Still hunting one of these down.
exus Sun Apr 25 2004 5:16:00 PM
Hmmm, this cat is almost the rarest Cat in game, im now searching 2 weeks just for that GPS. Im now so far that i would be happy if i could see a familar one. Sry., but the wp are all useless, dunno who they add and if theyre real posted, so i only can say that this great cat didnt spawn on Europe - Chimaera, DUNNO WHY !!! THO-M / MASTER CREATURE HANDLER

Finally found and tamed a baby GPS last night on Chilastra about 4400m NE of Coronet. Killed 1 adult before the baby spawned. After I tamed the baby no more GPS spawned. Previously I would get 4 spawns total. Note that this pet is very aggressive and will automatically attack the nearest creature/npc immediately upon calling it. Needs to be kept on a short leash and told to follow you as soon it's summoned.
Saphena Mon Apr 19 2004 2:35:00 PM
I've found and killed about 70 adults over a couple months using area track. I found it very useful. Finally tamed a baby 2 days ago.
Apoub Sun Apr 18 2004 6:37:00 PM
I have to totally disagree with you, i think areatrack is an almost useless command. Most of the time the NPCs or creatures around you won't load for like 5 minutes, and I frequently get the "could not detect anything from the tracks in your area" error response. Areatrack is one of those things that desperately needs to be fixed.
Hashishin Sun Apr 18 2004 3:55:00 PM
I have Ranger tracking skills, but have read somewhere on the SWG forums that for some reason the GPS can't be tracked. This sounds like a strange bug to me, but maybe true. However, if it isn't true. Ranger /areatrack is an outstanding help to find any animal, NPC, or PC.

Hashishin Fri Apr 9 2004 3:53:00 PM
I should have added that my sighting a few days ago of the GPS was on Starsider.
Hashishin Fri Apr 9 2004 9:24:00 AM
Yesterday I sighted and fought my first GPS -- this was in the middle of a swamp at 1996, 130. Just on the other side of the swamp from another sighting listed above. After killing 4 of them (one at a time spawn) no more appeared and no babies.
zabaca Tue Apr 6 2004 7:25:00 PM

Shrik Tue Apr 6 2004 2:49:00 PM
I got mine Yesterday. I posted a pic on my post. Got it SW of nyax's stronghold. I posted the spottings on the sightings page.
Vral Soqui Mon Apr 5 2004 11:25:00 PM
Killed 4 more adults tonight 3800 meters NE of Coronet (thanks again to my ever diligent ranger friend). No babies this round either unfortunately. And yes when you examine them they still
say Tamable so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for one.
Tycalibur Mon Apr 5 2004 6:51:00 PM
A poster on the official forums has recently caught a baby in the last week, and had the picture to back up the proof, so they are still available as of the last Publish (7).
Vral Soqui Mon Apr 5 2004 4:25:00 PM
Killed 5 of these cats (thanks to a ranger friend of mine for the locations) on 04/02/04 (Chilastra server) at two seperate spawn points about 2,500-3,000 meters NE of Coronet. Weren't very hard to take down with a Rancor and Pistols 4. The third did aggro me at the end of the fight and would have incapped/DBed me had I not used burst run. Unfortunately no babies spawned. It was the first time I had seen a GPS and I spend a lot of time on Corellia. I was just excited to finally have seen one. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a baby the next time around.
Gnarl Sat Mar 27 2004 4:44:00 PM
Sighting at -671 -2695. He was solo and I could not find a lair. Been looking for a couple of hours
YourWay Sat Mar 27 2004 6:48:00 AM
my holo told me to become master ranger so Ill track them and if lucky tame a baby...hope it works ...
Q'revan Fri Mar 26 2004 7:21:00 PM
I have now fought 3 GPS in the one and only spawn i have ever found, but obviously i'd be too insanley lucky to have got a baby from that, but i have met on person on Gorath who has one as a pet, so i still believe it can be done, and SniperFZ I believe also that player cities are in the way of spawns, and have maybe stopped them in those areas. It seems with most of the central locations you see them on the map on this uber cool website are over-run with player cities on gorath. Hehe, back to crying for me :(
Ocean Mon Mar 15 2004 2:06:00 AM
I am going to get rid of my ranger tracking and dump master scout to take some pistoleer so I have SOME sort of ranged offense that isn't pets (TKM/MCH). I'm a bit hesitant to do so, however, before I get one of these. I don't use tracking all that often and found my grand wrixes the hard way. But... are these findable without tracking?
SniperFZ Sun Mar 14 2004 9:24:00 PM
I feel your pain Q'revan :( I'm in gorath server as well and have found nothing. As I mentioned below, my brother ran into one and that was back in Jan. I'm curious, does anyone know if player cities affect their spawning areas? For instance, does it totally eliminate spawning in a certain area if a city is built on or around it?
Q'revan Sun Mar 14 2004 1:09:00 AM
I'm crying mtself to sleep on the gorath server haven't even seen one adult :(
Thorinval Fri Mar 12 2004 6:54:00 AM
At last I have seen one (on Kauri). very aggressive. since I had masksent on, he didn't attack me.
Abraham Wed Mar 10 2004 5:43:00 AM
They do spawn on infinity, just killed my first adult yesterday....about 1000 clicks east of nyax cult. 4 adult spawned, no baby.
SniperFZ Mon Mar 8 2004 4:41:00 PM
I search everyday around the reported spawning vicinity and have not come across one yet. My brother has been playing since SWG came out and only ran into one.
Brdrker Thu Mar 4 2004 7:12:00 PM
I cannot conclusively assure you that they do or don't exist on your server, but I do about one trip per day, through the known waypoints on Intrepid, and in, maybe 15 trips, I saw 1 (plus 3 spawns but no babies). I don't do it on a bike. I rarely do it on a mount. These are tough to find. I believe diligence is the key. They aren't going to walk up and db you (although they'd like to)
Abraham Tue Mar 2 2004 10:35:00 AM
Ok...ive searched EVERYwhere on corellia within the spawnpoint range...and i did it at least 12 times....not one single adult spotted. Usually when i use the wp from here i can find what i need. Found a swampstalker baby in 2 hours today...killed 9 adults. But No gps.
Has anyone ever seen a Greater plains stalker on Infinity- Europe and has anyone here heard if some servers dont spawn all pets coz i think they dont exist on my servrr
Pls respond im going crazy

They aren't all that easy to tame either, given their high ferocity. They're one of the rarest pets, but also they're not the strongest. A showcase pet overall
NIMH Mon Feb 9 2004 7:04:00 PM
If you're a MCH, then taming the Great Plains Stalker is the easy part. Finding them is the trouble. Tamed mine on the 5th attempt.
rallalurl Sun Feb 8 2004 6:40:00 PM
at lvl 51 master ch can tame it, up to 64 I believe.
'Rob Sun Feb 8 2004 3:24:00 PM
Can a master ch tame these, or do you need bio eng cloths to do it?
Athiama Mon Feb 2 2004 6:47:00 AM
It is kind of fun hunting them. I don't know why. It's quiet...I'm just wandering around enjoying the scenery and using track4 every so often.
A common occurance with these, if you start attacking one, is that another will spawn and join the fight. So be ready to handle two...and if the 2nd is a baby, be ready to pull up stakes and run run run to lose aggro, lest that little thing get smooshed in the melee.
I've also seen a 2nd one spawn when NOT attacking, but unmasked near the first. In those cases, invariably, the two stalkers will attack each other. They *are* touchy beasts. Again, since you would just cry yourself to sleep should a baby spawn and attack an adult and get smooshed, I recommend you make sure your mask is up if you're just going to admire one in its natural setting :)
Diakonov Mon Feb 2 2004 2:41:00 AM
I believe these cats can come up on areatrack. From what I've been told though, the spawns are quite rare to find, but once you get one, the chances of finding a baby aren't all that bad
Hazarstanagge Sat Jan 31 2004 10:00:00 PM
Tamed my baby, 2nd attempt. I followed the wp's here in a big loop. 4 spawns 11 cats killed 1 baby spawn.

I've seen a baby, by the mountains of Tyreena
Lantyssa Thu Nov 27 2003 1:01:00 PM
These cats are always found singularly. They will attack *any* animal within 64 meters, whether pet or wild and even if your own maskscent holds.
