i just got novice be
now when i make a creature i name him while im crafting
and it shows in my inventory
but when i tame them it just say whatever kinda pet it is
and doesnt show the name i gave him

You have to tame it and when you have teach 4 commands with name it has a name.

Like /tellpet John stay

After you name it, you can retrain it with your regular command sets and it will keep its name...
