guys i just picked up the BE skill can someone help me?

ok i just learned the skill and all i can do with it is sample dna from animals where do i find the creature foor and flora food to make these things and how do i get a template? im so confused if someone could just give me a quick rundown i'd really apreciate it

flora food is collected using flora harvesters

creature food is meat/eggs/milk

Template is made using a food/chem crafting tool under the Genetics Tab.
