Armor question

Postby Electro » Thu Aug 12, 2004 10:03 am

Does the creature DNA you are putting in to the template have to have light armor in order for the resault to have armor, or is it just based solely on expirimenting the stat high enough?

From my experience, more samples with armor you have in your ingredients, the better.

You can experiment all you want, but sometimes Fortitude just does not go above certain point. It just gets capped. Its because the DNAs you used are not good enough to make it to light armor. For example, you might put

Bark Mite Burrower (BMB)
Bark Mite Burrower
Merek Assassin (MA)
Merek Assassin
Merek Assassin

thinking BMBs would help getting light armor and you go experimenting Physique, but it only goes up to 480 and stops there. (I dunno the exact number its just an example...)

On the other hand,

BMB
BMB
BMB
MA
MA

might give you a higher fortitude cap and result in light armor.

If you are wanting to lower the level of the pet and still keep a light armor, I suggest you try multi-generational sampling. You start with a high level pet like

Merek Harvester (MH)
Merek Harvester
Delirious Merek Avenger (DMA)
Delirious Merek Avenger
Delirious Merek Avenger

experiment just enough so that you hit 500 fortitude. Sample the resulting pet to get 5 DNA samples. I usually destroy a pet before I get all 5 samples, so I have to make a couple of 1st generation pets to begin
Again, try to experiment just far enough to get 500 fortitude for the 2nd generation. This should give you a low level pet with light armor.

NOTE: Please note that above creatures are just an examples. I dunno if it really does give you armor or not (though Im pretty sure it does).

Hope this helps a bit. Sorry its a long post.

What I'm looking for is a pet with 60% kinetic and energy as well as light armor. There are only 2 creatures in the game with all the, the reclusive cavern spider queen and gronda juggernaught, both rare and hard to sample, so it would be very expensive. However, there are a number of creatures without armor but 60%+ kinetic and energy, so if it is possible it would make the pet easier to make and a lot cheaper for me to buy. I have posted the request on my trade forum, but I haven't gotten any replies, so thats why I ask, maybe my expectations are too high.

Yes as far as I know Kinetic 60 and Energy 60 is very difficult to do. The best I have done so far was Kinetic 60 and Energy 53 with light armor using Bark Mite Burrower Queen DNAs. It came out as Level 49 (I think) and I have been using it alot.

I have done some testing with DNA laboratory on this site and it may be possible to use Prowling Gurreck and Bark Mite Burrower Queen DNAs to get both Kinetic and Energy very close to 60 and still keep light armor. Theoretically,

Bark Mite Burrower Queen (BMBQ)
BMBQ
Prowling Gurreck (PG)
PG
PG

gives you Kinetic 60 Energy 55 light armor.

The DNA having Lightarmor helps since if they do got lightarmor they got over 500 fortitude aswell which helps push up the overall fortitude a bit, its doable without alot of lightarmor DNA but its prolly very hard.
