creating critters

Postby Shesra » Thu Aug 19, 2004 5:55 pm

I was chatting with a friend last night about creatures. I'm a creature handler, working toward master - yay. anyway, he said that BEs could make really mean pets, say a level 65 critter with incredible HAM and everything, and put any skin you want on it. so I could have a durni that would rip the heads off rancors.

is that true? I'm sure it would cost a bundle, but if it's possible, I'll start saving now. :) it would be hilarious to have a killer bunny.

Skin only matters with the minimum CL (some skins got an cap on how low level they can be) and if thiere Aggro and Mountable or not.

So yes, its very possible to make an killerbunny :D

I've been making CL 18-20 durnis, and calling then Vorpal Bunnies ... I just like the name. Next is to try for armour on pets, I haven't been a master BE for long.

For armor, just experiment the fortitute over 500, and light armor will stick.

By 'stick' do you mean that the original DNA has to have come from an armoured animal? Or that it simply needs fortitude over 500 and amour will suddenly 'sprout'?

Wondering,

Original DNA has to have armor. Well, at least 4 out of 5 do I think. If they all do it just works out better.

The fortitude has to be over 500, although it is highly unlikely you will get that unless most of the donors, or at least a couple of powerful ones, have armor.

The one exception to this is when using clones. Very often I will end up with a clone that only has 490 or so fortitude. It will not have armor, but upon sampling it, the random numbers might be enough to push it over 500.

Natural fortitude seems to jump from 300 to 500 when going from unarmored to armored creatures, so only clones fall between them.
