Magic lvl 70....

Postby T'Ky » Thu Jan 27, 2005 10:42 pm

i think there is a bit of misunderstanding surrounding creature level...

for example, you buy a lvl 70 BE pet to go out and bash up creatures and to scare kiddies in the park. fair nuff.

my point is, that if you use this lvl 70 pet for bashing up creatures, then you just wasted your money.

creatures only hit with kinetic and some have stun...but i have never seen a piket with a blaster...so why have energy resist?

i'd rather make a pet thats AS STRONG as a lvl 70.... but cut out the useless resistances, and lower the level. that way a smart CH can use a second pet, and increase his damage per second.

PvP pets need this resistance cover so its ok to bring em up to lvl 70.....

PvE dont need em...so why pay for em, both in cost and level useage....are you compensating for sommat?

Some one once bragged to me that they had a lvl 40 kimogila, to which i replied i could make a lvl 40 kimo outa rill dna......moral....level aint a measure of creature, its a handicap on how much power you can wield

I agree. I make triplet pets that are around L23-24 with light armor 60 kinetic resists and good specials like intimidate and such. They don't sell as well as those L50-60 big pets.

I thought those CHs don't know too well about how to use pets for a while. BUT I then found myself (I have a MCH alt) calling just one big pet instead of those awesome triplets most of the time... It is just easier to call one big pet right before a fight and let it take the pounding.

So I now understand the need for one big bad pet. But I also agree that having a multiple pets out gives you more damage and more state attacks. We CHs are just lazy :P

Lol i hear what you say about calling one pet, call, wait 15 seconds....call..wait 15 seconds..... start crying cos the lair has already been taken down by that TKM guy who was just driving by..... but my point was, the only difference between a lvl 50-55 pet and a lvl 70 is a bunch of resistances you dont really need..... even if you dont want to use a second pet, a lower level pet generally costs less, as the price is generally based on lvl...which is laziness on the BE part, as the level isnt the measure of a pet.

Yeah as long as a pet has 60kinetic/light armor/intimidate, thats pretty much all I need most of the time.

In some cases where mobs have ranged with acid damage though, my kinetic tanks suffer big damage because they are vulnerable to acid damage. Those mobs are actually pretty common (i.e. Crimson Blurrg, most of spiders and snakes). When going up against those, I use pure Bark Mite Burrower Queen breed (all 5 DNAs come from BMBQ) for its nice acid resists.

Yesterday, I used my triplets for the first time in months. It was great. Great damage output and great state attacks(intimidate, dizzy, stun, blind and posture down). They suffer very little damage. But as soon as mobs start shooting acid blobs at my pets, they get big damage because of their vulnerability against acid.

interesting..... is that actually acid attack? or just a green blobby animation?

if so what other attacks do mobs have that you cant readily identify? and is there a way to identify what kind off damage they do?

i was of the understanding that a creature basically just did kinetic damage... besides specials of course.

Its green. I am pretty sure thats acid damage. You can try this by pitting your 60kinetic/light armor pet against Crimson Blurrgs on Endor. Its available on mission terminals at around 11k payout.

Your pet will suffer very little damage when it is right up against Crimson Blurrgs, but once CBs start to use ranged attack, it will suffer pretty big damage (if your pet is vulnerable to acid attack of course).

I have seen red and white blobs, but cannot determine what those are.

I'm constantly asked \"Can you make me a lev 70 pet?\" I tell 'em \"Yeah, but why?\" Lev 70's are nice for grouping to get a better mission. I never PvP because its ratheR pointless for me or my pet to be beaten publically. I like the 3 pet combo and plus since I'm a Trandoshan Master Teras I can take care of myself unless against a Krayt or Giant Dune Kimo (ugh, the disease!) I mean its kinda cool to see level 70 on your pet but 3 pets that equal up to level 70 can still own a level 70 pet.

Lowest level pet I've made with armor is a level 15 Razor Cat with 55 kinetic, 8k health but 2800+ action and 2500+ mind.

[quote:720a420b4f=\"Belwar\"]
Can you either add your pets to your toolbar (like you can your speeders) or make a one-button macro to call them?
I KNOW you can make a macro to have them all attack your target simultaneously, with specials and all...seems like \"laziness\" would prompt a short cut [/quote:720a420b4f]

You can just drag and drop your pet in your datapad into your toolbar.
