Postby Ferret » Fri Jan 09, 2004 5:59 pm

Has anyone had any luck getting their BEd pets to use this?

I spent an age workign out my pet formula to get this and everything else but they just don't use it.

I know how to get it on the pet, my problem is in that pets do not use it.

Even using the /tellpet followtarget; /tellpets special1; macro doesnt help.

I have not been able to get any of my pets to use knockdown either (and yes they are full grown). I hope it's a bug that will be fixed. I haven't had problems getting other state changes to stick such as intimidate/dizzy/stun.

My understanding about knockdown, it only works if the target is already dizzy, so you really want a dizzy, knockdown combo...crippling strike might work with knockdown as well, but knockdown by itself doesn't work, as far as I know.

You do know that KD only works against 2-legged foes, NPCs mainly. You cannot KD a four-legged critter.

Maybe because it was pre-patch, but I think I have knocked down fambaas a while back with my lunge2.

Kockdown works on creatures, just not very well. Dizzy is just this side of pointless on a creature, because you can't dizzy/kd them and have them not be able to get up, they get up anyway. So what knckdown on creatures does is make them miss about 2 attacks, same with kneel. They are kinda nice but I wouldn't sweat them if you are fighting creatures. NPC's on the other hand it would be effective.

Now, to answer the original post, I have no idea why your pet's knockdown doesn't work, but my gut feeling tells me they don't want pets to be able to hit that very well, so they basically made them very inaccurate with knockdown.

Dizzy, however, I know my pets hit it far more often then I can (I'ma fencer :)).
