well, that's some degree of help.. I was already aware that open wounds and AoE attacks didn't go to BE pets, but that's why I said \"pull out an arachne queen\". As for the time cycling, the game timer runs a teeny bit fast in combat, and 45 secs goes by faster than you think... really its all about fighting something big, like the npcs on the corellian corvette etc, where you really do have that much time....
but.. given the idea that sp1 str poison, sp2 str poison works, you could have 660 in poison tick tockin on em and slam em with decent dmg without having to store a thing... more effective dmg for several reasons I need not go into such as high kin resist etc... if there was a way to focus this all onto one pool that would be a 50% effective dmg increase to the poison, making it an effective DoT of 990 (much like effective ham in the lovely creature descrips so well put on this fabulous website). 990 on a DoT is POWERFUL and cannot be ignored if it is truly a possibility...
the main problem I'm experiencing is that SP1 and 2 do NOT necessarily come from aggression or psychology as the guide on SWG said.. so mayhaps someone can clarify this as well in addition to trying to answer my questions. Understanding these issues could really give us BEs an opportunity to lay it on as far as the creatures are concerned and give us more bang for the buck with lower clvl creatures.

I've always noticed Special Attack 1 to come from Physique and Special Attack 2 to come from aggression. Unless of course the majority of the sample's have a different special then they can override in those cases.

THANKS YVESOF!! Okay... that's one puzzle piece... and while I can't seem to get a definitive answer on some of these questions.... I CAN create creatures with the specials I want and give em to CHs to test. If no one knows these answers then I'll find em out.
Lemme compile what we know so far about creature specials and include my unanswered questions below... I'll keep editing the post as we get more info till we have a complete guide on poison and disease and perhaps even bleed.
QUESTION
1- Does poison/disease from specific creatures target a particular pool?
(I notice for example, bull rancors have mind disease and the snakes on naboo almost always poison health.)
ANSWER
No, poison and disease from certain creatures do NOT attack a particular pool unless they are specialty attacks, like plague strike, which are not BioEngineerable. Your chance of either poison or disease affecting a pool is
50% health pool
33% action pool
17% mind pool
QUESTION
2- How much dmg does a disease DoT do at the different lvls? Is there a range, does it depend on the creature (i.e. do specific creatures have a multiplier for their disease DoT?)
ANSWER
None Yet.
QUESTION
3-I was reading about that whole Open Wounds special attack entry for causing bleeds on a target... does that mean that bleed dmg is equal to the amount of wounds an affected target has?
ANSWER
None Yet.
QUESTION
4-Are attacks like the Arachne Poison Spray stackable with normal Strong Poison?
ANSWER
None Yet.
QUESTION
5-Do the two different specials a creature has stack with one another? I.E if a creature has SP1 Str Poison, SP2 Str Poison, will the poison stack then?
ANSWER
None Yet.
Once we get these questions answered the BE and CH community will be able to make some more advancements in the potency of our creatures
Thanks for everyone's time

~Nunc lento sonitu, dicunt, morieris.~
Here's what I know as far as this stuff.
QUESTION
1- Does poison/disease from specific creatures target a particular pool?
(I notice for example, bull rancors have mind disease and the snakes on naboo almost always poison health.)
ANSWER
Strong, Medium, and Mild poisons ALWAYS target the health pool. The only poison that can hit other places is an area poison attack. All diseases and area effect poison have a random chance of hitting each pool, probably the same chances that you have to hit each part in normal combat.
QUESTION
2- How much dmg does a disease DoT do at the different lvls? Is there a range, does it depend on the creature (i.e. do specific creatures have a multiplier for their disease DoT?)
ANSWER
Not a clue really. All I can tell you is that Strong Disease does high wounds but for a short time, and mild disease does a very small amount but lasts a long time.
QUESTION
3-I was reading about that whole Open Wounds special attack entry for causing bleeds on a target... does that mean that bleed dmg is equal to the amount of wounds an affected target has?
ANSWER
Thats what it sounds like it should be, but I haven't really seen much as far as this goes. I don't have any open wound pets.
QUESTION
4-Are attacks like the Arachne Poison Spray stackable with normal Strong Poison?
ANSWER
Area poison is a different poison attack, that can target any pool, and it can stack with other poisons. You could have a Mild, Medium, Strong, and Area poison all on the same target. Get them all on health, and you'd have a nice 370 or so damage going (110 for strong, 100 for area, 90 for medium, and 70 for mild I think, the mild might be off though).
QUESTION
5-Do the two different specials a creature has stack with one another? I.E if a creature has SP1 Str Poison, SP2 Str Poison, will the poison stack then?
ANSWER
No, because poisons of the same strength don't stack, even with 2 different creatures using the same strength poison. Only different strengths will stack. You could put, say, Medium and Strong poison on one pet and stack one of each kind on the enemy.
Hopefully thats some useful info for you.

Some additional clarifications:
All diseases do pathetic damage during their tick. You might see 3 for mild and 5 for heavy. In the end however, a heavy disease will blacken more of the bar.
Plague strike is different in that it will start at 150 wounds and increases its amount as the target has more wounds. It will blacken roughly 1500 points when it finishes.
Open Wounds does not require any wounds. It does a 150 tick bleed, almost always to health. (Poisons, diseases and this special will very occassionally hit another pool, but it is so uncommon they can be said to hit health almost always.)
The area disease and poison specials hit the three pools with about an equal chance.
