Can anyone confirm that these actually have a ranged attack? I went and tamed myself one to use as ranged artillary today, but it doesn't have the Use Ranged Attack command for training. I assume that means that the entry is wrong and it doesn't have a ranged attack, but its possible that it can't learn the command until a certain level I suppose. Anyone?

Teaching ranged attacks is somewhere on the Taming tree (or is that master?). I forget where it is exactly...

If it has a ranged attack, it should use it on its own. The ranged command has a tendancy to have your pet keep at a distance, but it only kind of works.

Teaching ranged attack is a master skill, I am a master CH. I meant that perhaps a creature can't learn ranged attack as a baby, only once it reaches a certain level of growth. I know how to test out if it actually has ranged attack or not, I'll check it out when I get the time.

And as far as ranged attack working, it seems to work all the time for me as long as you tell the creature to attack within 30m (otherwise it has to run closer, and for some reason it tends to run way too far), and as long as the creature isn't getting attacked. If it's getting attacked by something using melee, it won't use ranged, probably to keep them from kiting.
