special attack definitions

Postby Snikmyrde » Mon Dec 29, 2003 2:01 pm

Wondering what the effects are for some of the specials, crippling strike in particular. Might be something nice to add to the site for reference.

Thanks

CripplingStrike - Lowers the posture of the enemy
PlagueStrike - AoE disease attack
PoisonSpray - AoE poison attack
Mild/Medium/Strong Poison - Takes away a certain amount from one pool every 15 seconds. Mild is 40 damage, Medium is 90, and Strong is 110.
Mild/Medium/Strong Disease - Causes a certain amount of wounds every 15 seconds. Not sure of exact values, but Mild is weakest and Strong is strongest.
OpenWounds - AoE health bleed, dependent on how many wounds the opponent has.

The rest should be self explanitory I would think. I don't know about ForceStrike and ForceBlow, but I think they are AoE knockdowns maybe. And as for Area Combo, that just causes a lot of random status effects in the form of an AoE.

This is what I took off the starwarsgalaxies website forums. I don't know if all of it is true but I take it to be since it makes the most sense. I believe I found it while reading through the BioEngineering forums. Good info there for just don't post asking what creature is best to buy and if someone could make them a kimo...they seem to get annoyed by that.

Blinding Strike - state Blind
Dizzy Strike - state Dizzy
Stunning Strike - state Stunned
Intimidation - state Intimidated

Crippling Strike - posture down one level
Knockdown - posture Knocked Down

Open Wounds* - state Bleeding (if wounded)
Mild Poison - state Poisoned (weak)
Medium Poison - state Poisoned (medium)
Strong Poison - state Poisoned (strong)
Poison Spray* - state Poisoned (AoE)

Mild Disease - state Diseased (weak)
Medium Disease - state Diseased (medium)
Strong Disease - state Diseased (strong)
Plague Strike* - state Diseased (AoE)

Force Strike* - state Dizzy and posture Knocked Down
Force Blow* - state Dizzy and posture Knocked Down (AoE)
Area Combo* - states Dizzy, Stunned, Intimidated, and Blind (AoE)

* - TC tester information suggest these may not be allowed in clones

You only get to see those if you have high Creature Knowledge, ie Ranger skills. Which sucks, I wish we could at least see what our tamed pets have for SA. Ah well...

Slight correction, Force blow doesn't exist although Force Strike does for animals.

Tal-N, I am pretty sure it does exist. Look at a giant dune kimogila. (Unless they have changed it or I am completely mistaken.) It is a very rare special though.

Sorry, that should be the giant kimogila, not the giant dune.

Well Force strike is an area of effect knockdown, (hence Force because of it's Jedi like origins) while knockdown is obviously the normal knockdown. I've not been to Lok recently but I don't recall seeing any kind of Force Strike mentioned for any of the Kimogila previously. They did have the very rare Area combo though for one of the giant versions.
