nice greetingz to all the passioned Chs,

ive a question on the bull rancors, maybe some1 of u is experienced on hunting them and was maybe lucky enough to tame a baby. im on the hunt for them since days, the way i do it is joining a solo group or forming a group with my pets so i can get the bull rancor missions on terminals. then headin out and destroy. im carefull with the killin for sure, coz the possible baby spawn..... but all i get is spawns of normal rancor babies.
i used the same tactic to get a mantigrue screecher but the good on them is, the lairs only spawn screechers, while the bull rancor lairs spawn bulls, normals and youth..... and sometimes babies of normals. so with only 3 bulls in a lair the chance for a spawn seems to be much lower then on the screechers where only screechers spawn ( 2-3 per wave ). so i wasnt able to have a look on a bull rancor baby , even im playin since 6 month and im often on dath. is it only they r so damn rare or do the mission lairs maybe nver spawn bull babies? shall i get the areatrack back to locate natural spawns of bulls? coz i really hate to hunt them, plague strike sucks, ok, u can get this disease buffs now, but they last only 40 to 50 min and to get rid of 500 to 900 ( mostly mind ) wounds takes ages with meditate.
maybe some1 of u can help me with the answer to this questions, thx 8)

Hey Black Eye,

I don't think anybody has found any magic tricks to spawn bulls. Many of us, like you, have been hunting bulls forever with no luck. I recently tried the rancor cave to see if there might be a better percentage, but there wasn't. It took a lot longer to kill in there because the aggro is just insane in such tight quarters. Maybe someday I'll go back with a group, but until then, I think it's 99% luck and maybe a bit of Divine intervention to find a bull baby. Good luck to you and, um... put some ice on that eye of yours :)

lol, hehe, thx will take care of the eye yes........

done dozens of lairs now, atm im tryin not to destroy them, only let them tap from my nice little pet, the worrt \"Bud\", whos a brave fellow, goin to tap the lair, i await the spawn, if nothin of interest is within i head to another mission lair a few hundreds away and do the same. then i return to tap the first lair again.... in this way u can spawn hundereds of rancors from one lair, coz the server deletes the new spawn when u leave the lair for a bit of time...... but was still without luck, but will go on =).

another question, the so called rancor cave, i noted a wp for that what lets me guess its the cave at the NS stronghold ( POI ), is this right? only rancor in? or NS too, because some of them r hard bitches now with their force back?

The rancor cave isn't on the POI. I'm not sure when it came into existence. It might have always been there and I never happened upon it. Or it might have been added recently to correspond with one of the Jedi quests where an ancient bull rancor must be killed. The entrance to the rancor cave is guarded by an ancient bull. Once inside, I found the typical spawns: rancor, rancor youth, gnarled rancor, etc. I didn't get very deep into the cave, only down to the first plateau before I realized it would be nuts to go any deeper alone. Once inside the cave, you cannot renew your pet. You're stuck with whichever one you brought in from outside, and if he, or they, go down, well... *shudder* Entrance to the rancor cave is -4232, -2079 (that's the actual entrance where the ancient bull stands, no safety buffer)

A strategy I use when doing lairs (which has not improved my success obviously LOL) is to isolate the bull and try to kill just it, leaving the others from the original spawn. Some convoluted pretzel logic tells me that in so doing, I'll somehow increase the chance of spawning a baby... *sigh* But it hasn't happened yet.

thx for the wp to this rancor cave, guess ill take a look in it.... btw with the right fight prof and the master title in it shouldnt be a great problem ( with good equipment too for sure, wot means decent compo, bio clothes, weps, buffs and food ) to get through the rancor cave, as its just for the geonosioan cave....

on my last 2 bull rancor hunts ( u see i got no baby spawn yet too ) i got not even one time plagued.... i got buffed against disease but this buffs last only 1 hour and were the most time this bad that the effect couldnt be real good, but even without buff i got no plague and i blame my tactic for.... my only fight skill is TKM ( im trandoshan so ive a bit better skills on that as other races ) and i wear a bandolier with +13 warcry and intimidation when on bull rancor hunt... i atack the bull first, warcry, intimidate ( maybe 2 times if it didnt work) then KD and kill it with headhit as fast as possible..... it seems the bull isnt able to apply plague while intimidated and most time dizzy too coz of the KD2 hit... i did around 20 lairs wihtout disease resist buffs and got no plague this way, maybe luck but worth a try.

Black Eye, You have the exact template that I am going for. How do you like it? Is it effective? I already have Ranger xx3x, TK 2442, and CH 1313. I hope to get TKM soon, so I can start saving xp for FS conversion.

hello m8,

i really like this combination of profs but the bad about is the loss of medic skills...... im often hunting alone, coz of my search for babys.... for this its normally no problem coz im buffed on solo rancor hunts for sure..... but for example the 3 days trackin tour to find the GPS spots in the inner plains i did without buffs and fought the adults with help of my pet and healing in battle... at this time i wasnt Master CH and TKM so i had enough skill points for medic.... but now..... u ever need buffs and this i dont like and if u go for real big mobs like Krayts, big Kimos or Tusken executioner or somethin else and have no medic ur only a half step from death.

the trackin tree is real cool it helped me to find differnt pets i wouldnt have found without ( but sadly no bull rancor baby or death head baby hehehe ) but i surrenderd it back to master scout to be more independent with medic 1xxx. the pets im now looking for ( only this 2: bull rancor and death head ) i try with missions to get ( rancor ) or with overhead map and luck ( death head )..... but if uve skill points left coz of not being master tk or Ch, get the trackin tree =)

hope this helped u a bit =)

Thanks for the tip, man! I already have the tracking tree up to the third skill box, and I also have 1010 Medic. When I start to run low on Skill Points, I'll start giving up the tracking tree, instead of the Medic tree that I was planning. I don't wanna be out there without a way to heal.
