I was just wondering, what is the fastest tameable creature in SWG?
So far the fastest I've found is a gleaming lantern bird, who can basically keep up with a swoop bike.
I tried taming an ancient reptillian flyer, but he always zoomed away from me, so I was wondering if they are faster.
Anyways, what is the fastest pet in the game based on everyone's own experiences?

The Fastest Creature
Haven't tested fliers, but from what I've seen they are all about as fast. My two variations of Rep Flier can keep up with my swoop just as easily.

Fast pets
Gurrecks are fast enough to keep up with at least a landspeeder. A friend of mine has a pair of them, and he tried it back when I was just starting out in the game. Ever since then, I've coveted his cats. But now I have a gleaming lantern bird, which came in VERY handy while I was doing the search missions for the Phase 1 search quest for the Hidden Village.

Well, I noticed that there are several birds in this game. All of which can travel very fast, but the question is, which is the fastest?
These are the birds I [u:b1cfba7a2a][b:b1cfba7a2a]KNOW[/b:b1cfba7a2a][/u:b1cfba7a2a] are fast:
The Ancient Reptillian Flier (Can easily keep up with a swoop)
The Gleaming Lantern Bird (Also can easily keep up, but sometimes gets distracted by enemies that agro it)
Okay and now these are birds that I'm unsure about:
Perlek Ravager
Devil Gulginaw
Flit
Rasp
Mantrigue
Giant Gackle Bat
If anyone has any ideas how fast these are, or know of any other fast birds that don't have any problem keeping up with a swoop please let me know.

I have not done any testing, so I cannot give you any concrete answer, but I think pet speeds don't vary within their speed category. For example, I firmly believe that all cats run at the same speed (gurrecks, gurrcats, razor cats and narglatches). So there is no \"fastest\" cat. Like cats, I think most flying creatures move at the same speed.
But, I am not saying all flying creatures move at the same speed. I think some are slower than the other(I think mantigrues are slower), but as far as repilian fliers and lantern birds, if they both keep up with swoop, they are probably moving at the same speed.

Not true. I found that greater sludge panthers don't keep up with vehicles. Ditto tusk cats. Both are fast, but seem to lose motivation when chasing a ride. Probably the best test would be to experiment with them aggro'd against a Force-Running-3 Jedi.

I am talking purely about speed. They \"may\" have some difference in their behavioral patterns, but if we race any cats side by side, I am pretty sure they run at the same speed.
When I go out hunting, I sometimes have two cats out usually a BE gurreck and a BE razor cat. What I notice is that when I ride a bike, on my rador, I see 2 green dots (grouped cats) following me almost overlapping to each other.

What we should do is find fellow CHs on our servers (I'm on Bria) and we could all get different flying pets and do speed tests with them by making them follow one person and seeing which ones can keep up better and which ones cannot.
I noticed the gleaming lantern bird is very fast, but it actually seems to get winded, because sometimes it will slow down and you'll lose him. You'll see him get bursts of speed also, like he doesn't want to give up. I havent noticed my ancient reptillian flier ever fall behind though.
So is anyone up for doing some speed trials on Bria? Or if there are more CHs on your server then ask them to do it with you.
