Never mind, found him. But now I apparently have to wait hours and hours for a static spawn of the mother before I can get an egg. Found the nest, nothing special to kill though except standard varactyls. Bah....

Wow that is strange...
On Shadowfire I have been by the spawn point several times since Hoss showed it to me (Hoss you rock!!)
Mom veractyl was there every time

I don't know if the reward veractyls count as a quest award, although it might be possible that a transfered quest pet becomes normal. If testing shows that to be the case, I would bug it.
It is possible that it is intended behavior to keep someone from getting nearly unlimited quest pets through transfers. While there are ways to prevent it, there is no way for us to know how exactly they coded it.

To get the bantha trophy go to the Rodian hunting camp and talk to Kerssoc I believe his name is and ask about getting in the hunting grounds. He will have you get 17 bantha pelts. When you are done you get the trophy.

Bantha statue is pretty easy. There are many banthas roaming around the area. I finished it in maybe about 15min or so.

Got me a Kash bantha mount. Next stop, Geo Caves...
