CH Designer Clarifications

Postby Juntao » Mon Oct 27, 2003 6:40 pm

Straight from http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=creature_handler&message.id=112371, posted by the CH correspondant:

\"This is hot off the presses, from the CH Designer. After reading this, please feel free to post any follow-up questions here, and to post your Top Five Issues with the proposal in the other thread (if you haven't already). Things written in green text are his exact words.

Just to clarify: The CH changes are not proposing that at master level you can only have \"one fighting pet and a mount\". The change would be that you can have two pets out. Whether one is a mount or they're both 25th level creatures used for combat would be up to the CH.

It is worth noting that with the creature balance pass changing the most grossly imbalanced creatures so that they are more or less equal to other creatures of their level (or raising their level until they are), it is likely you won't want more than the single highest level pet you can tame for combat. There simply won't be any combinations of two 25th level pets that equal a single 50th level pet. That's why the example was \"A 50th level creature and a mount\".

But there wouldn't be anything preventing you using two 25th level pets in combat (assuming your max pet levels is 50) if you wanted to.

(Vertexon's Note: The CH Designer also wants to stress that these are proposed changes. He has not changed a single thing yet, even internally)

Removal of the 'patrol' command doesn't seem very popular. I can already tell that were very likely not to remove it now, based on the feedback we've received already.

Here's a question for you: If the max creature level were to remain at 70, where would you put the +Lvl's in the skill tree?
