Control Devices

I'm wondering what the difference between control devices and pets themself
are. With control devices I mean the things that get added to your datapad
when you buy a factionpet. Once I tamed a biz nitch or something like that on
a rancorhunt and it didn't show the pet himself in the datapad but a control
device like those of my factionpets. :?

It seems anything in the baz nitch family or rat family(vrelts and those yavin rats) show up like that...was pretty wierd when i first tamed a noxious vrelt and it showed up like that. Figured all the aggro type creatures were going to appear the same :lol:

I tamed a Reptilian Flyer and it show up as a red and black box with a question mark on it in my datapad.
