Since animals feed to replenish HAM. . .

Postby Ocelot Kane » Fri Sep 10, 2004 12:34 pm

Wouldn't it be good for the pets to be able to feed on their kills?

You and your GPS take down a sharnaff, there sould be a command, let's call it FEED, to let the creature replenish it's energy. You still will be able to interact with the pet to heal it's mind, fatigue, wounds, etc.

Hey devs! Over here!! Read this!! *whistle*...

I like the idea, but only if it works for the carnivorous critters. If herbivores start eating their kills, I'm going back to entertainer LOL

Why not simply scale its secondary stats (Constitution, Quickness, etc) to its HAM, instead of just basing it at 40 for all creatures? Maybe 1/10th of its HAM? I.E. a full grown rancor would have 11300 HAM, therefore its secondaries would all be 1130. Kind of ridiculous that you have to wait overnight or use pet stims just to heal your pet up, BETWEEN battles.

At the very least a hefty increase to its secondaries while the pet is stored should be implemented. For instance, maybe, pets could have secondaries at 40 while out and about, but have secondaries at 1/5th of their max HAM while stored, for example, 2260 for a Rancor.

Great idea! It's such a pain to have to wait for them to heal.

I'm not too sure about the pets feeding on kills, though. Maybe if it was a feed OR harvest decision, but not both.

See what I don't understand is when you get your pets to do tricks it not only heals their mind wounds but also replenishes the mind bar completely. Well it happens to me all the time I don't know if it does for anyone else.

So, why not have it so when you feed it, whatever you use to feed it, have it heal their Health/Action wounds as well as replenish their Health/Action bar. Maybe not completely, but beats spending retarded amounts of money on pet stims or waiting hours for it to heal on it's own.

Just my 2 cents! :D

Giveing the Pets the option to feed on there kill's would be very handy.
After all we can all use droids to harvest our kill's for us so this could work in the same way.

I find it a pain haveing to keep storeing my pet inorder for it to get its stats back however in combat I simply use a stimpak b, works just as well on the pet as it does on me.

and you could take it on step further, and have the quality of the meat effect the nutrition of the pet. high qual meat could provide perks and low qual cold weaken the pet...

Well I guess being a TKM/CH benefits my pets quite a bit, and having a great BE for a close friend. My pets never get wounds as I always tank for them, And I keep them healed during fighting with \"1050\" pet stims made by my BE bud. Whenever I put a pet away they're always fully fed and healed. If by some freak chance they do get a wound I just bring them inside a house, or drop a simple camp and use wound packs on them.

But after saying all that I fully agree that it would be very cool to allow our critters to feed on their kills.....and to allow herbivores to feed on the flora and fauna that abound everywhere...The penalty might be that a specific amount of time would be needed to do it.

My biggest problem being a CH is that I get way too attached to my critters. My pad is always full (18 at the moment) And I find it very hard to \"release\" them.
