Looking for a specific type of beastie

Postby Kateras » Fri Sep 10, 2004 2:44 pm

I'm looking to tame a particular type of pet. My character, Kateras, is loosely based on a D&D character I played for quite some time and I'm looking to have him tame a pet as close to what he had, a wolf. Does anyone know of an animal that is very wolf-like in the game? I've found the Narglatch cubs, Razorcats and other similar animals, but none are all that wolf-like and in fact, more cat-like.

Mind you, I've only just recently taken up being a CH. Novice + enough XP for a level 1 rank in something (still undecided about what I should pick up first). I'm not looking for a particularly powerful (be it now or even potentially powerful), just looking for a wolf-like companion.

Thanks for the help,
Kateras

i think that the closest u will get is a grand wrix or normal wrix ... get a ranger to find u 1 on talus [more comon] or correlia [less comon]
but thats my view any way
many thanks

At novice, you can tame a Slice Hound. Its level 9 and non-aggressive.

Alternatively, you can buy a BE pet.
There are 3 dog type skins available for BE pets.
Slice Hound

However, only slice hounds are non-aggressive. To use other two, you need to go up taming tree.

Thanks Nytar and Lrak, gonna train the rank I have the XP for and then I'm off to Corellia. I'll try for a Wrix, but due to the DL, I may have to settle for a Slice Hound. Although the Kusak is almost exactly what I want (by looks), it's well outside my level range and I'd rather tame it myself (it's a role-play thing).

There's also the boar wolf. It looks more porcine than lupine though. Maybe if you squint your eyes really really tightly...
One tame at a time :)

Doglike pets

Postby Iakimo » Sun Sep 19, 2004 8:16 am

Here's a suggestion: How about a Huurton from Dantooine? They are somewhat doglike, with a funky scaly-looking head, and they come in a variety of subtypes of various levels.

Another one, with kind of a flattened snout, would be a Kusak or one of its variants from Lok. They range from level 18 to 24 and look kind of like a Pug... Kinda, sorta, again, maybe if you squint really hard... just don't tell Nym he looks like a kusak....

Anyone have a pic they can update the swg profile of a Kusak with? I don't think I have ever seen one. I too have been looking for a wolf kind of critter and hurtons just don't seem very wolfie to me :)

Its a ferocious Kusak, but it looks the same as kusak. And whaddya know, I took that picture!

Yeah, SWG designers must be cat lovers. We need more dogs!

Thx for the link. :D Yeah, the devs must be Cat lovers. Nothing wrong with that, but more Canine types would be welcome :)
