Your most unuaual tame.

Postby Kriegan'shka » Sun Nov 14, 2004 12:57 pm

Hoss mentioning his tame of the Malignant Squill baby made me think of Tatooine. Several different memories quickly came to mind, But a particular tame I made there while hunting Banthas for meat stands out.

There were several adult Dragonets near the location I was harvesting banthas. They were close enough that one or two would attack me if I chased a Bantha too close to them. While waiting for more Banthas to spawn....I saw a baby Dragonet spawn. As they had put up a pretty good fight, and are quite large I decided to try and tame it.

I masked scent and approached it, and as I neared it, it took off like a blue streak. As I started to run after it two large Dragonets began to pursue me. I quickly did a double take and sure enough my scent was still masked. The baby stopped and I began to tame it just as the two adults hit me hard. I thought \"well there goes the baby\"....but it didn't join the adults in attacking me.

So I just kept drinking Stims and continued taming. I failed that attempt and the baby took off like a streak again with me right on its heels and the two adults on mine. I was concentrating so hard on staying with that baby and watching my ham to know when to gulp a stim down, that I didn't realize until to late that the baby had lured me near a mob of some kind of bandits...all with ranged weapons.

All hell broke loose with ranged fire coming from 5 or 6 directions. A lot of them missing but quite a few scoring...The two adult Dragonets hit me again,..........but the baby was still just standing there.....I couldn't believe what was going on but I was determined to get that baby so I started taming again, gulping stims, drinking brandy and eating canape...and I still can't believe it but I got the baby....turned back in the direction I came from and ran like hell.

The two adult dragonets followed of course as did three of the bandits. I stopped and took out one lizard, ran a bit and took the other out, then turned on the bandits and disposed of them.

That is the only time in this game that anything even resembling an experience like that has happened, and I have never, even in real life had so much adrenalin pumped into my system.

My son, who was hunting with me, was busy fighting a bantha when I took off in pursuit of the baby, And missed it all. He said he didn't realize that I had even left..... :) Turned out that the Dragonet wasn't really such a good pet. A nice big voritor like my Lil'Windy is just as good in my opinion. And the dragonet was very expensive, with all the buff foods and Stims I went thru. But I wouldn't have missed that experience for nothing... :) It was worth every credit.

hmm..thinking of my grassland guardian experience..lol

after it happened it sent a tell to kriegan'shka telling him what an idiot i was..lol

found a spawn of 2 tgg adults, already have one but i figured, wth give it a shot...so i kill the adults twice and a baby spawns..it's only lvl 40, i have my taming pants, didn't figure i needed food too...went to tame it and it aggro'ed me, then i noticed a second baby which proceeded to join in on the aggo party..

so i'm running in circles trying to break 2 aggros and being unarmed, trying to avoid any thin else on the screen..one aggro would break , then it would join back in..took about 10 min to get free..then both the babies poofed, as i had gotten too far from the spawn point..

later that evening i found a single spawn and collected a baby from that..took 7 tries with food..the one in my datapad i got on the 1st attempt...anyhow that one now resides in kriegan'shka's datapad..so anyhow i was 1 for 3 on thune gg's that night..good in baseball but not so good in ch-ing

Yeah those are really cool looking. I just wish they were a bit tougher. I tamed a couple of those on Talus when I was hunting avian meat there a while back.

Speaking of the Grassland Guardian Hoss. I was in coronet and another MCH came up as I was showing my giant rock beetle off and making him do his \"Popeye the sailor\" dance. He started doing the \"I can top you critter game. I brought out my Grand Wrix baby I just tamed, and he brought out his giant sludge panther. I brought out charlotte an he brought out a giant gaping maw thing. This went on for a bit and he topped me each time, be it Rancor, Graul or whatever......then.....I brought out the Grassland Guardian an he just stood there for a sec an then said.....COOL....an didn't bring out any more critters. He just said cya...... :)

I really like having my TGG, but haven't or probably won't ever use him in a fight. I'm considering deleting him from the pad. I grew up watching Sesame street so I can't help but think of mine as Mr Snuffalufagus.

My most unusual tame? My second wife! At least I thought she was tamed. Who said practice makes perfect anyway?!
One tame at a time :)

Ha ha thats a good one Zurlaboo ! I like that one. Hi Xanth ! Yeah I felt kinda funny killing Snorbals on LOK last night. But they were giving Xiriss some great XP. And dropping some very decent herbivore meat.

THeres a dude in Tatooine that was in Cnet shouting for avian meat yesterday. He'll pay 100cpu for Tat nuna meat. just take it to tent #7 in Mos Vegas and put it on one of his vendors to pick up some pocket money. His name was Da'Vinci.

I once saw a doc shouting for avian on Talus, and offering 150cpu. I killed those little Talus rasps for three days straight and mad 2.5 mil..... :)

LOL my first wife was tamed OK, but she ran away from my datapad a year later. Unless SOE gurantees wifes dont go poof from our datapad, I am quitting the game!

I'm working on taming an elusive second wife. She seems to have pretty high \"nyter\" resistance with medium armor. Anyone got almond cookies?
