Trading

Postby elvigy » Sun Nov 14, 2004 10:07 pm

Hi, all-

New to the CH profession, but having a problem. When I trade pets to non-CH characters after taming them, they always get a message that they have no hope of controlling this creature. I know about aggressive pets, that even at low levels they can't be tamed by non-CH characters. But I've traded a dwarf nuna baby, carrion spat baby and a couple other things to friends and they always get the message that they have no hope of controlling the creature.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm worrying that the few animals (deeds) I've sold on the bazaar (I'm also a BE) won't be controllable by non-CH and people are getting ripped off (though no one has sent me an email saying anything was wrong with their purchase.)

I don't have any problems controlling these creatures and I like helping others out by training and giving them pets, but so far it's not going the way I had planned, lol.

Anyway, any pointers?

not sure what the problem is but i have had similar problems, where when I try to trade to a non-ch the trade always gets cancelled.
so I always assume that they have to many pets, however they alwasys say they don't have any.

Yeah, that happened to me once too, but it cleared after we tried a few times. That was the same guy who, being a Pistoleer, was getting a message that he had no hope of controlling a dwarf nuna baby. It was kinda funny.

also I have noticed that if the pet is untrained, it will say the same thing.

Well this might help you a little if the non-ch you're selling or giving the critter to just wants a pet. once its in their inventory (as a deed) or in their datapad. And they get that \"uncontrollable\" message. Take them to an \"NPC\" creature handler trainer and have them drag the \"deed/critter\" onto the \"NPC\". They will get back the same type of critter, but one they can call....or.....a similar type of critter they can call.

But if its a special critter you've made to order....like a high health lvl 10 bantha. an they trade it an get back a mediochre bagerset. Then they won't be too happy, an you'll be out collectin DNA again for another try..... :) Actually I'm not sure about the deed. The pet might have to be in their pad to trade it to the NPC.

I know a deed won't work on the NPC-CH. I tried it before I made novice when I purchased a pet that I couldn't do anything with except as furniture.

Ahh..OK ! Then they'll have to be able to have it in their pad to trade it then.
