Using Pets to Pull

Postby » Wed Jun 02, 2004 8:27 pm

Hello, I'm just starting out in the CH profession and totally enjoying it so far.

I had read somewhere that using a combination of /tellpet attack and /tellpet follow lets your pet pull single critters away from crowded lairs. I use this technique but only rarely does my pet come back with just one critter. Am I doing something wrong or am I simply misinformed about using that technique?

If they have a ranged attack and hit the wrong animal that could interfere. Or perhaps the animals you're attacking fight in packs. Those are the only things I can think of though.

With creatures that bring along friends (BAF), you have to make sure the one you attack is far away from the others. Regardless of technique, you will get the whole bunch if you do not do this.

If you can find one that is semi-isolated, you can then use the attack and follow commands to bring the target further away, so there is less chance a packmate wanders closer and then joins in the fight.
