You probably want to stay on the starter planets (Corellia, Tatooine, Naboo) for now as you can tame up to CL 12 as a Novice. Corellia is almost all low-level stuff, so I find it especially good.

Your pets' CL will not get any higher as babies now have the same stats as an adult. What they will gain is ability slots and training points.

As a new handler, I recommend you look for pets with innate specials. As a novice it is a great time to start building up your repertoire of specials.

Hi Skyla,

Nice to see new faces here :)

Your second question first...

You are correct that the creature level of your worrt will never increase. The good news is that the CL isn't all that important anymore, other than determining whether or not a creature is within your taming capability. You can mature your level 3 pet by fighting with it (to open its training slots and add skills to it that would make it a more viable fighter), but it will always remain a CL 3 pet. This system is brand new so many of us aren't yet familiar with the actual results out in the field yet.

As to your first question...

The easiest places (which might make them the 'best' places) to start would be outside any major city on the three main planets of Tatooine, Corellia, and Naboo. As you gain levels, you can drift further out from the cities into the more feral areas. Of course that increases the danger factor as well. There are lairs out there filled with creatures that will stalk you and kill you, so be careful where you go on your taming safaris.

Creature handling is still the profession for those of us who are not in any particular hurry to master it. It is more about the pets and learning what they are capable of and how to best use them. It gets more exciting and more challenging along the way which is a great incentive to continue plying our trade. Patience, and a lot of it, will make CH the most fun SWG has to offer!
