Transfer vs Trade

I am a fairly new CH 2-2-1-1. But i am a little confused about the transfer command.

What is the diff from trading with someone?

You can trade any pet to anyone at any time. You can only 'Transfer' a pet to someone if the pet knows the Transfer command and the person you are transferring to can actually call the pet.

At this time, Transfer is pretty worthless since anyone can circumvent it by doing a regular Trade.
