Buy a god BE made pet you can control, go to Dathomir and join enraged rancors hunt group.

Cu Pa's on Tattooine are great starter animals. They are not very hard to tame. They fight relatively well, and you can eventually mount them and teach distance attack.

ATM I'm a novice CH (0/0/0/0) and I use a wrix. They're CL 12 and have 1300 HAM (highest for natural creatures at that CL), and they're cats, so they're really fast. They can almost keep up with you on a speederbike and they can run from just about anything. And they're oh so cute :-)

Took me a few days to find mine, though.

i started with a baby rock beetle that someone else tamed for me, and just took it around a bit killing low level stuff. It helps to have pretty good marksmanship so the pet can tank for you and you get full exp without having to run around a lot.

I'm using a lvl 20 bantha that is grown to about level 9. I'm just outside theed on naboo hitting the newbie spawns and I get about 112 CH xp per kill. It's not much in comparison to other hunts, like rancors and such...but it's quick and easy and requires very little pet healing.

Get a dewback as soon as you possibly can, and then get the upgraded versions as you go. Dewbies own the known universes!

An leveling tip i can give you after you got youre pet is to go to Anchorhead and look for an mountain squill hunting group (atleast its lots of em on Farstar) my level 15 razor cat took in 480 CH xp each mountain squill and its almost risk free since they die pretty fast :D

(another tip, best thing to do it is to put pet on attack to ALL squills that pops so you dont miss out any xp :P)

To the pet question, get an BE'd pet as fast as you can. As an BE myself i sell \"failed\" non-ch mounts that tipped over to level 11-12 on bazaar.
