Problem

Postby Juicer » Mon Jul 19, 2004 12:02 am

Earlier today i was trying to give someone, a non-CH, a pet, and they said they had only one pet in their datapad, a bantha. I kept trying to trade it to her, but everytime it cancelled and said her datapad was full...all she had in it was the bantha and a swoop. Anyone know what was wrong?

This happened to me once, A friend was trying to give me a lvl 10 to get me started, turned out to be just another bug and a relog sorted it out.

Aren't waypoints also part of the 100 item limit in the datapad? Or are they tallied seperately? If she had 98 waypoints and those 2 items, wouldn't the bantha be rejected? You'd think I would know this stuff by now :P

The same thing happened yesterday to me.

I gave a non-CH level 10 Kaadu to one of my guilies and he said when trying to call it, it said \"There is no chance of controling this pet\" or something similar.

As it was just after I read this thread, I told him to relog and try again. He did and he was able to call it out.

Thanks guys!

[b:a1e09ba039][color=yellow:a1e09ba039]Sooooo a non-CH IS able to hold more than one pet? I'm not a CH yet (I am a Wookie, so I have a Cu Pa as a pet), and when a CH tried to give me a second pet he couldn't--he was informed I could only hold one. Is it because Cupie is a level 11 pet and I am not yet a CH? I would really appreciate any wisdom you could offer me.[/color:a1e09ba039][/b:a1e09ba039]

hmm..what does being a wookiee have to do with anything? and a non-CH can hold two pets.

It was my understanding that a non-CH could only hold a Level 10 or lower pet, but that a Wook had a slightly higher advantage; I assumed (wrongly, I guess, from your comment) that we might be able to hold something like a Cu Pa and not be CH.

Since obviously I had wrong information everywhere, could you please tell me:

What ARE the rules for how high-level a pet I might hold before I make CH?

Why could I not add a pet to the Cu Pa I already held? My inventory had a helper droid, a swoop bike, a speeder bike, a land speeder, and Cupie in it.

I hope one day to enter the rarified heights of CH territory--that is why I subscribed to this board. I do appreciate your patience with someone who is not even a noob yet. Thanks.[/color:0b2ce3ae17][/b:0b2ce3ae17]

My apologies on behalf of Juicer to you Motherslip. He's a little new to these boards too and was probably having a bad day to warrant that comment. There's also wrong info about Wookies getting plus levels to their creature handling abilities floating around so he may have been p.o.'d with that. The wrong info I'm referring to is that a Wookie gets +10 to his CL calling abilities when in fact they only get +10 to Taming and +10 to Taming Viscous Animals, doesn't change what level pet they can call.

As for your questions....a non-ch can hold 2 pets. The levels of these pets don't matter (you can hold a level 70 pet if you'd like) but you can't call anything that's above CL 10 until you reach the appropriate stage of Creature Handler. I hope that answers your questions. As for why you couldn't receive the second pet you mentioned earlier, I'm not sure. Try it again sometime, it could've just been a glitch.
