I have noticed that when I /pet my pet they tend to calm down and the ones I have that fly land and quietly sit on the ground. Something to try if you don't want your pet standing or flying.

Also, it seems like the pet will try to imitate you. If you pet them while you're sitting, they seem to sit or lay down more often than not. Nothing scientific, just an observation :)

The Torton's lay flat whether I'm sitting or standing. Makes them easy to get out of everyone's line of sight when it's downtime.

I found that some pets do different tricks when seated. my graul's alternate trick1 is very funny. :)
