Where do you have to be in the CH tree to train the cat species?

I see the GSP, everyone's favorite, is level 56. So to train this would I need to be

2/2/2/2. . .3/3/3/3, etc. Thanks. :o

You can find out about this using SWG character builder.

You simply fill out the boxes in CH profession and click on \"View Report\". Look for \"Max Number of Pet Levels\". If it says +12 then that means you can tame level 12 pets at that level.

There are also \"vicious\" creatures (red dots on your radar). You need to go up Creature Taming tree to tame those creatures.

P.S. GSP is Greater Sludge Panther which is level 25
and GPS is Great Plains Stalker which is a rare pet at level 51

It's best to follow Nytars advice, but here's a quick breakdown of the level increseases you'll receive

Base = 10 for all players
Add for each CH box

+10 (master) Total = 70
+5 +5 +5 +5 Total = 60
+3 +3 +3 +3 Total = 40
+2 +2 +2 +2 Total = 28
+2 +2 +2 +2 Total = 20
+2 (novice) Total = 12

So if you need 56 you would at least need to be a 4-4-4-3 in CH

i have 3 GSPs that i tamed myself. I'm not sure but i think i was only 3-2-2-2 when i got them. Run out to talus and check they are not hard to find and they are definitely worth it.

There are cats that you can tame at every level, from novice to master.

At novice you can tame wrix and minor sludge panthers, cowardly gurrecks at cl16, etc...

You also have dire cats, and swamp gurr cats. (An interesting thing, I went to Naboo to show a fellow Wook, and aspiring CH, what a my pride looked like, and when I brought out the Swamp Gurr Cat, it became an \"AWWWW, so cuuuuute. can I have it?\" So, I finished training it, then gave it away. There was an onlooker who was there who was a dancer and liked it. I mentioned that it would not be tough to get another. Of course, since then, I have been to three lairs and not seen any babies. Being a CH, you might not get some great Uber perks, but it is these little things that I love.)
Right now, I am 2/1/0/0, and that is about all I have found. I have been looking for more, spent a while on Talus and all I saw was grass, trees, bushes, flowers, oh, and some rocks. It was not until 45 minutes later did I finally see some yellow dots, and those were beetles. I continued on for a bit, finally some some paralopes, then a bit after that, I called it quits for the day. I tried to go to 'sighted areas' and saw nothing.
The last time I saw a baby wrynx, it was north of Tyrena, my mask scent went away and got swarmed, it was not pretty. I ended up going back to town a lot faster than I wanted to.
I also saw a cluster of wrynx's near the Rebel Outpost in Corellia. I believe it was a bit to the southwest in a mountainous region.

Speaking of Talus and non-CH cats, the minor sludge panther is made for non-CHs! Gave away two, maybe I'll search for more in the future...

Me and my 2/1/1/1 (soon to be 2/2/1/1) self got my first razor cat. lairs can be found south of doeba guerfel. just start walking south for a bit, lairs are all over the place.
It was great, started walking to a point I put a marker down before, and went there, nothing but grass. So I kept on going, saw some red arrows, followed them to a lair with a nice little baby closet to me. Got him on the first try.
