Problem With Taming A Rancor

I've got a BE Rancor that's level 38 and I've got max level of 39, but I just tried to tame it and it says I lack the skills.
Help?

rancor trouble

its not that you can't support a creature of its lvl, its that you can't tame a \"ferocious\" creature of that lvl. You need taming 3 if you're a wookie, and taming 4 if you're not. If you want to use it now, eat some of the chef food that increases your taming bonus.
