Twin Gurrecks

Postby Kriegan'shka » Sat Oct 23, 2004 2:22 pm

Well I had a successful first hunt for a particular creature. All my tamed critters were always found by accident while hunting or Surveying. This time on Hoss's advice I traveled to Endor to try and tame a pair of Gurrecks.

I found Crazed gurrecks who put up a good fight, But also being a TKM made those fights short. Found one Cowardly Gurreck lair and was tempted to get one for training purposes but with only two open spots in my pad I passed.

The regular Gurrecks were by far the toughest of the bunch. It took me three lairs and some careful strategies...basically a good learning experience....And I now have two Gurreck kittens to follow me around. Kit n' Kat. I took them hunting to see how much XP they would give me on Pickets.... :) \"0'.. I laughed my butt off.

I also made a trip to Dath last night looking for Ancient Bull Rancors. Got lucky and found three lairs by exploring on foot. Used my Lil Voritor and put him on guard and I now have just one box to fill to make MCH. Was tricky keeping him healed while fighting but my best bud...A Wookie BE makes great 1010 Stim C's...So I was able to keep him on his feet to get me the XP I needed.

Made one big mistake tho. I was at a safe distance from the next big bull that emerged from the last lair. I could have just waited til I could drink brandy again. Checked my stats monitor and it looked as tho I'd be able to drink any second. So i used bad judgement and made contact with the Rancor. Even tho the small bars said I should have been able to drink brandy. For whatever reason the game kept saying I was too full, and would not allow me to drink....So of course I eventually died, even tho I was using no specials at all, my mind slowly dwindled and I was incapped and killed.

I'm sure I will. Haven't had much time the last few days as my Artisan has been hogging all the online time. But I'm pretty well caught up with him So I'll be able to log my CH and feed some lesser bolles to my kittys.

I'll start them out easy till they are big enough to eat pickets. Actually right now I need to hunt up a couple of Voritor babys to finish my last CH box. They have been the critters that have given me my biggest gains in CH xp. They're easy to work with and have a nice ranged attack that usually keeps them out of harms way.

I'm not sure what bonuses I get for Mastering.... But I'm sure looking forward to it. Its been a long hard road.... :) It will be nice to see the end.

you get some nice perks...the ability to call 3 pets at once, a +10 max creature lvl bonus, for a total of 70, a +10 to hit bonus--meaning you pets will hit 10% more often with their attacks..oh and the instant tell hell for wearing that \"mch\" tag...you'll be suprised how may aspiring and non ch's want free pets and how many mounts there are to train..lol

Don't I know it. I've spent hours at the starport because I didn't get out of there before they saw my tag. Of course, I cannot turn anyone away from the enjoyment they will get from their pet. Many people, especially the younger pvp type players are in complete and utter shock that I don't charge for my services either. :D

Well I don't charge for services either. And I'm always trying to find homes for pets I've tamed, As I really hate destroying them. I wish there was a way to deed a tamed pet so you could give it to a non-ch. Then they could take it to a CH trainer and have it reduced in level and ferocity so they could have it. It would give CH a way to actually earn a few credits...And allow non-ch to have more interesting critters even tho they would have been pacified quite a bit.

I don't have the problem Xanth mentioned he has at the starports as I don't frequent them much....But I'm often getting tells from total strangers that have used the \"search\" feature to find me. I often drop whatever I'm doing to go and assist them...And I find that by offering free services that I make new friends and often get paid better in the form of tips. Than if I tried to charge a fee.... :)
